Plants are in the first day of week 3 of flowering. I was very busy during the last couple of weeks and didn’t have time to take notes and pictures of the progress. I have few pictures of them as clone only. They were vegetated for about full 5 weeks, which I believe now as a little too long as they got too big for the room. As you can see I don’t have enough ceiling, from the floor to the reflector I have only 52 inches to work with. The room is a cozy attic that can get really hot during summer (120f) for that reason I have been studying the possibility to switch to LED panels pretty soon. If you fellow farmer are growing using LED and are having good results having a similar situation as mine, please share with me, I really appreciate it :)
I also would like to hear the pros and cons of the LED lights, what models I should consider and which ones I should stay very very far away…
Plants were transplanted straight to a 1 gallon container and were being watered 3 times a week.

I mix my nutes in 5 gallon water jug with air stone while the plants still small. The E-Zwet and Sea Green usually when added to the reservoir being aerated it naturally foams, but when these 2 are added together, the mix solution foam out of the jug like a vulcano erupting :)

A little old update on the girls.
As you can see I am reporting the progress a weeks later because I didn't have the time to be posting since I had also to work in the garden after a long day of hard work.
Lights were flipped to 12/12 on Sunday, Jan 24 2015.
Room temperature is about 78f and 55%rH. The lowest with lights off is 69f and 60rH.
In the first week of flower I watered them with:

Subed.

You have a very intense nutrient schedule going on, and I am jealous of your flower room.

Any shots of your P98 plants toward the end of veg? I am sure they are hiding in that jungle somewhere. Do you hand water inside your tent? I really want the option of doing that and want to figure out a way to deal with runoff. My plants are also getting to wide to water in my bathtub...

Sorry for asking so many questions, but your plants are looking great!

You're welcome to ask KCMP.
Here is a shot of the Pre98BK that I just took for you. I had to remove out of the room so you can have a better look. I wasn't sure what you would personally like to see so I just took a shot of the whole plant from far. Measure is about 24" wide and 24" tall.

I forgot to mention in the last update that I switch from hand water to drip system. I have 3, 1GPH drip to each plant. I have been thinking to increase to 5 in order to have a complete ring around the container and water more evenly. My water pump is a EcoPlus Eco 633 model, 594GPH, and will have to upgrade to the Eco 1056, 1083GPH.

Thanks for the pics!

What was the rough cost on that drip system? I am seriously considering adding one now.

I just noticed that your P98 has very different fan leaves than mine. Guessing we have two different phenotypes?

No worries. I never grew this strain before, neither have checked any grow journal to compare.
I will post some links just so you can take a look of what you will need to build your own, you can find all parts at home depot or other big store.

The water pump is a EcoPlus 633 Submersible, 594GPH $47.18

1/2 in. x 100 ft. Poly Drip Tubing $9.97

The 4-Port Full-Flow Manifold is about $5.99, you can find it at home depot the same brand for cheaper and they have with 6 and even 12 ports, it is up to you.

1/2 in. x 10 in. PVC Riser $1.27.
You will attach this piece to the full flow manifold.

I recommend buying the more soft material, you can get it at your local hydro store by feet also.

You could also use a pipe thread screen filter to avoid clogging the dippers. If you buy that will need a 3/4 in. Barb x 1/2 in. Male Pipe Thread Irrigation Swing Pipe Coupling. The same picture as posted above.

What's up farmers, how are you guys doing? How is your garden doing? My little jungle is looking very interesting as the they're starting to expel their aroma :)
A quickly update on the girls. Nothing much has changed this week, plants still looking super green and health. Flowers are getting decente size now. The Pre 98 Bubba Kush and Cotton Candy has such a nice structure, they will definitely hold the fat buds. I will install a trellis tonight as the plants will not stretch anymore, didn't do it before because I can't get in the room with the trellis installed and I like to do a final cleaning of the lower flowers that I am sure won't get enough light.
I am bumping my PPM as you will notice it. Plants can't definitely take more nuts so I decided I am around the 1000/1100.
I have been thinking to add some LED panels and continue using my HPS. As I mentioned before I was thinking about replacing them, not anymore. After much researching I don't think I would get great results using LED only, unless if I get a bunch of top of the line panels and high wattage consumption to equal the amount I am using now, so the investment would be around 4k and hope that works. The reason I gave up is because you only see videos or thread from people who got their lights in order to promote, so who knows that the really results are.
I read a guy talking about how the big greenhouse don't replace their HID for LED because of the cost of the investment, really? So tell me about these guys. They are still using their HID and only use LED as a supplemental. Don't get wrong, it does works for greens, lettuce, kale, spinach and etc.
I will remove all the 8 UVB bulbs (26w) which draws 208w and replace with LED. I was thinking about Advanced LED lights, get 4 of their panels, maybe the XTE series that draws only 80W. I will continue to look for other brands as well, if you guys know anything reliable please don't hesitate to write down here.

This week the plants were fed this way:

Week 3 of Flower
Mix solution around 950-1100 PPM & PH 5.7 - 5.8

Monday
RO WATER 30 PPM & 6.7PH
Growmore Humid Acid 10ml

Friday
Yeah I had to push a day earlier because they are drinking a little bit more and also as I am using the drip system, the coco doesn't get watered all around the pot, making it stays dry in some parts.
Today while mix the nutrients I was taking notes of the fluctuations of the PH and PPM, and that is how it ended up.
RO WATER 50 PPM & 6.5PH ( I don't know why the PPM raised and PH dropped, filters and pre filters are brand new)

Hydro Garden KSI02 20ml - 130PPM 9.8 Ph
Jack's Professional 5-12-26 15g - 540PPM 8.6 Ph
Mad Farmer's M.O.A.B. 1tsp - 680PPM 6.7Ph
Alaska Pure Kelp 30ml - 710PPM 6.6Ph
Growmore Humid Acid 10ML - 720PPM 6.6Ph
H&G Drip Clean 4ML - 740PPM 6.6Ph
Heavy 16 Fire 10ML - 890PPM 6.6Ph
Heavy 16 Roots 5ML - 910PPM 6.6ph
H&G Multi Zen 20ML - 910PPM 6.5Ph

I then added the Jack's 15-0-0 Calcium Nitrate and Magnesium Nitrate that were mixed in a separate bottle

Jack's 15-0-0 Calcium Nitrate 10g - 1100 PPM 6.4Ph
Magnesium Nitrate 5g
Epsom Salts 2.5g 1140PPM 6.4Ph

I added 1 more gallon of pure water, dropping to 970PPM and Ph was adjusted to 5.7

Now few pictures of the happy girls

Thanks for the awesome info regarding the drip system! I am currently putting an amazon order together based on your list. Might have a few more questions once I add some personal modifications and finalize my plans for the set up.

Your plants are looking great! My P98 has a very different leaf structure. I guess we must have different phenotypes?

:goodjob:

Hey man I am starting to get my drip system set up I have some pics over in my thread would defnitely love your input. Are you having any issues with dry spots forming in the coco? At this point that is my only concern. Thanks again for that info, I had your thread up while I was at the store today.

What’s up farmer?
Beautiful day to be off and to do a little update on the girls.
It is week 4 and girls are getting fat and smelling strong. To avoid that I started running my AC to exhaust the odor outside, passing through the bigblue ozone generator first.
I have 4 weeks to decide which LED company I should buy from. I have contacted Advanced LED 2 times via email and never got a reply, maybe they’re selling too many units and have been busy. I will also reduce the number of plants for my next run with LED from 12 to 4. Thinking about having 4 panels to each plant. My only concern is regarding how close I can keep the panel to the canopy since I don’t have enough ceiling to work, right now my lights are about 12” the closest and some plants at 18”.
I have been considering to get some Platinum LED, don’t know much about them but also don’t know about all the others, since there are always someone talking crap about all brands making it really hard to make a decision.
The girls this week were fed this way:

Week 4 of Flower
Monday
5 Gallon Compost tea brewed for about 24 hours.

RO WATER 40 PPM & 6.7PH
PH was adjusted to 6.0

Recipe
4 Quarts of bountea living alaska humisoil
1 Cup of Bountea Bioactivator
1 Cup of Worm Castings
1 Cup of Roots Organics - Phos Bat Guano 0-7-0
1 Cup of Down to Earth - Bone Meal 3-15-0
1 oz of Growmore Humic Acid
75 ml of Hi-Brix Molasses
5 Tbsp of Sea Kelp

Wednesday
I had more compost tea being brewed so I got 2.5 Gallon of Compost and added plain water, then I added:
Primordial Solutions Sea Green 5ml
Growmore E-Zwet 10ml
Botanicare Liquid Karma 40ml
H&G Roots Excel 5ml
Botanicare Aquashield 40ml

That’s all for today. I will update tomorrow with photos from the girls during the day.
Peace.

ive had my plants growing into my led's
i just super crop them down or tie them down my height is also limited 5 ft total height in the tent minus the light and how its attached
i don't worry too much yes it does get light burn when its touching but like i said i either tie em down a bit or super crop them
my lights run cool and i have no personal issues with them i think they are wonderful
and they do last so no issue with that either
ive had some good yields and not so good ones under led's but i believe genetics play a role and also free seeds i don't put the same nutrient schedule i just use the base schedule for freebie seeds but the ones i know are good i use an advanced feed chart
iv had yields over 6 oz dried and i had 1 oz yields depends on plants genetics and what nute schedule i put into it
i average about 4 oz a plant dried and when im on my normal perpetual schedule i chop one plant every 3 to 4 weeks

Hi Cronichemphog!
How have you been?
Your grow room my be the same height as mine then. I have only 42" to work with.
When you had harvest of 6oz, was from how many plants? What is the size of your tent and how many plants do you usually grow in there? Also, what light and wattage do you use?
Thanks
