Terpinator? @farside05 did and didn't notice any difference so he stopped. He'll let me know if I am mis-remembering that.

Although Terpinator itself doesn't smell bad, the Terpinator and Mega Crop combo made my plants smell like actual dog shit. I wasn't seeing any benefit, so after 2 weeks or so using it, I stopped. The dog shit smell went away after that.

Some more pics guys

Was just looking over Greenleaf nutrients website and this is the latest on the “Free Samples”...

Because the “free sample size” was now 1000g (2.2lbs), which is a significant size that may last several growers many grow cycles, we added a small fee to the sample now. We now offer the 1000g “sample” with a 75% discount 1 time use. This means the price comes out to about $2.77 + shipping for the new sample, which is still a very low price in our opinion. Having the 75% discount, instead of the the 100% full free discount will prevent customers from simply creating new accounts and cashing out the discount on multiple accounts. This way, they could get a high amount of free nutrients fairly easily, only paying a small shipping cost. Having the small barrier will slightly prevent this, while also allowing first time genuine users the ability to get a large size amount for a very low cost to do a large “trial”.

Seems fair. They need to make a living!
Yeah I agree. I’m paying close to 75usd for GH for about one grow lol and this should last me about the same for some chump change! Still a steal!

Certainly. And $3 + shipping is still one hell of a deal. Nice to see how they're confident enough in their product to double the sample size. :)

It's definitely a steal. A big bag ran me just under $80 shipped. That puts me at about $20/grow in my 50gal RDWC. Compared to something like $300 for GH trio or something like that.

The only slight issue I have with it is that it is giving my roots a slight, light brown tint. Other than that, no real complaints at all.

Wouldn't you get that light brown tint from some of the other nutrients and supplements out there? I'm thinking GH's Floralicious Plus and others containing molasses.

From some, possibly. I wouldn't be running floralicious in the RDWC, so it wouldn't be an issue for me. Most places you read advise against using the molasses type stuff in water-type grows. I'd say hydro, but that would be inaccurate as coco is considered hydro and IIRC it's OK for that.

In general though, most other lines don't stain the roots like this. It's not bad, but makes it a little more difficult to quickly spot a root issue.

However, at this time, the low cost as well as the successful results is definitely keeping me on the train. The slight tint on the roots is just a minor nuisance more than anything. Next closest thing to this would probably be Jacks, but I'd have to invest in somewhere around 8-12 runs to get it down to about $30/grow. (Which is still way better than hundreds. :D)

I actually have slight tinting with my GH trio and calmag mix. You got any Root porn pictures I can compare mine to?

Not this time around, no. It's at the point where I'm not getting my lids off without risking damage to the plant. With your mix, my guess would be the calmag.

Sorry if this has been answered, but I haven't been keeping up with this thread. Even though I still have >2,000 grams of the V2, I went ahead and took advantage of the recent 75% off of 1,000 gram bag special. I thought I was buying the newest V3, but it looks pretty much exactly like the V2 powder with balls. Did I just buy more of what I already have? Was hoping to not have to use CalMag any longer with the new stuff.

Here is the Mega Crop release history update:
July 2017: Original product release (v1)
December 2018: 1st product update. Increase Calcium and Magnesium/Sulfur (v2)
August 2019: 2nd minor update. Increase again Magnesium and P (v2.5)

I've kept my nutrient solutions between 5.9 and 6.1, with the exception of one batch that I increased to 6.4. This is in drain-to-waste with a coco/perlite substrate. The only thing I haven't liked is that it has never completely dissolved for me, and is clogging my drippers.
hey OS, I run DTW and I'd love to help figure this out with you. I think I remember your running pressure compensating fittings, first free flow would be less prone to clogging but I'm sure you like the even waterings you get and dont want to change your system.

your running a wave maker, is it on 24/7 and how turbulent does the water get? also are you running air into the rez with the maker? I'm seeing a little settling myself, I have a commercial air pump but I'm using a smaller one bc the wife doesnt like the noise. I notice less settling with the commercial pump and high turbulent water.

last one, are you using enzymes? I'm using Z7 but will be switching to SLF-100. It's less expensive and people I see are raving about it, gonna give it a shot vs the Z7. Basically it keeps the rez clean, eats up organics/breaks down salts, and keeps drip lines free of clogs... that's what is stated on the website. I'm waiting for my bottle to come in and I'll let you know if I notice a difference over Z7.

the reason why I'm thinking this will be better then z7 are
its 1 part vs 2
it's cheaper
can be used with hydrogen peroxide
been around for a while and I only see positive reviews.

I'll keep you updated. Running coco DTW with MC
I either hold my breath or blow the dust away from me!
Oh man! I use an N95 mask, one of those reusable ones that painters use. That stuff smells like poopy, def dont want to breath in any of that. The flying particles are so fine...
Anyone used terminator with mc?

I was curious how purpinator would

preform with MC. Intrested in trying but not if its gonna smell worse

My plants are loving the coco MC combo

I've re-designed my system to use a higher pressure, incorporating a self-cleaning filter. Hopefully this will take care of the clogged drippers.

I have two timers running the system. The wavemaker comes on five minutes before a 10 minute window opens for watering, and continues to run through that window. The second timer is a combined time of day / interval timer, programmable to the second. It powers the pump to water the plants, allowing me to regulate the amount fed to within 20ml.

I'm not using emzymes, or an aerator at this time. Apparently what we are seeing is small organic bits that won't fully dissolve. All of the nutrients do dissolve. These bits are supposed to be small enough to pass through the drippers. The wavemaker puts them back into suspension, and they are pumped to the plants.
