The Mountain: Grow Support From The Over 50 Club

Hiya folks. I have a question for you all. I have an outbreak of fungus gnats. I'm using
sticky traps, but I also wanted to use hydrogen peroxide, which I read would kill the larvae.
However: when I transplanted I used mycorrizal fungi. Will the hydrogen peroxide kill the
micorrhizal fungi?. Thanks, Rolypoly.

SM90, drench, weekly to begin the bi weekly.
Works for me.

Ol' man long time grower.
I am running straight Canna Coco.
During early veg stage then the roots have yet to fill the top of the pot I get coco movement when hand watering. When switched to auto irr., I run this,

and the irri. creates wells in the coco.

As you can see I just put a 1" plus layer of Clay Pellets on the surface to stop the coco movement, stop the wells when using auto system and I believe it will allow the roots to completely fill the pot even to the surface, ie. hold moisture a bit better.

Am I wrong in my thinking and is adding the clay pellets going to cause a problem further into the grow?

I am 39 days from sprout.
This is a five plant vertical grow with stacked 315W CMH and binding the plants to screens. At present, running one lamp vertical and one lamp horizontal until I achieve the height I am looking for then will change the horizontal light to vertical.

This is a pic of how I bind the plants to the screens.

Hey Roly, I killed off my gnats with Gnatrol The product was developed in Israel where they discovered a stomach parasite inside larvae. It kills the larvae and nothing else. The yellow tangle-foot sticky traps catch more than the white strips. Also sprinkling dolomite on the surface presents sharp edges that discourage adults from landing on the soil. Two or three treatments wiped out my infestation. I also treat my aloe vera plants for the gnats.
Happy growing,
:volcano-smiley:

What can i do to this soil for a bare minimum functionality and low maintenance.

Climate: hot, humid. I believe the soil to be classified as entisols.

Picking up maneur for windrow today, but need at on the go method for amending entisols and ultisols.

Thanks so much! I need this.

Hi, I could use some insight. My seedling are 3 1/2 weeks old and started showing some deficiency. I fed them about 40 hours ago and don't see much change. Will the leaves return to normal or will they remain like this with healthy new growth. Also since it was so weak should I feed again or water next? Thanks!
Ps the spots are light burn. Already fixed that.

Hey Domina, I generally used nutes every other watering and I think you're on the right track might want to bump up the cal mag a little and I usually push a few galvanized nails into my soil to increase the zinc levels to the roots. Here's a chart that might help troubleshoot.

PS: Pretty grim username but NICE handwriting!

The mottled leaves are Mg deficiency. See that you're using couple of Nectar products. You'd be better off getting Demeter's Destiny for Ca & its ability to use Mg from the peat or coco, which are both loaded with it. Also get Herculean Harvest...a must in Nectar. In Nectar pH at 6.0 to 6.2 in veg. Your 89 ppm is too weak. Bump it up to ~500. Feed again when soil ppm is 300-500 (700 scale). Suggest more Nectar line & omit the EJ CaMg. :Namaste:

composting .....no meat .dairy...fats and oils..........start your compost off with some soil from your yard ..its full of microbes and it will kick off the start of the process.....grass clippings and pulled weeds any kind of vegetable scraps from your kitchen ....egg shells ....the smalled you chop stuff up the faster the composting process will happen ...buy some red wiggler worms online and add them to the compost pile this is a must ...worms will turn your compost and garden into pure gold ......go on youtube and look up organic composting ...you will find a ton of good info on youtube

So, these were taken on the 25th day of flower, during minor cleanup, on 12/18. they have been under a 15W CFL since. They were cut and put in water right away. Got one ready to put into the RootRiots cubes by lightly scraping the epidermal layer and splitting the stem to the depth of planting. I then dipped each into rooting gel and inserted the stems into the cubes. Then placed them into the cloner in about an inch of damp coco.
That was 8 days ago and they still look alright but I don't know what to expect. Am I just spinning my wheels, this was off one of the clones that did not make it from the original 5 and it is a nice looking plant so would like to keep it.

Any thoughts, I really can't keep any more clones but from I have seen I expect them to be ok. I have a few clones of the other plants, each was started with seed. With these I can give my buddies in the PTSD group a little cheer. I do not have PTSD but I am a vet and when I met the guys a while back it fucking broke my heart. I also make CO, for these guys and also for anyone I can help that may have cancer or other deadly debilitating diseases.
At some point in this country we will all be able to use cannabis as a medicine and I want it to be free for all. I am not a socialist, LOL

Hope to get some pics tonight for an update, we are looking ok.

Plants will do strange things when you try to change them from flower back to veg state but as long as they are still growing they will be ok

That's just my findings when I have tried this I'm sure there are others here that know more than me

Beef they must have potting soil available by you? Dont go with none of that sandy soil. Any potting sol is better that that. Just my 2 cents.

What a hobby, I get to make my own medicine and get better quality than I can get in a legal dispensary. At 70 years of age it is a vary good thing!

What's going on in my 4 x 4!
Day 49 12/12

The 11th was the 7th week of flower. Took the plants out and removed the netting to rearrange the bud and
tuck them back behind the net where needed. My GF after we finished kept talking about how sticky her arms were from reaching into the netting to do the adjustment, and they are very very sticky. :)

My nose is dripping like a faucet, feeling a bit miserable. It can take me up to a week to get over a cold!. Whats a

Harvest them... or wait a week. A little late harvest is better than an early harvest, IMHO.

Thanks for highjacking my thread. NOT COOL!

:rofl::rofl::rofl: your thread, whew. Nearly LMAO. ;)
