What is that mess on my leaves?

New to the forum, but very familiar with what you have, Thrips. Turn over the leaves and look with a high power magnifier. Many ways to treat. Though ,looking at the time of your post if you did not discover them and treat, you have more.

Worms love horse crap, but make sure it has sit for a while to degrade the worm meds in the poop.

Hello all!

Quick question...
I have an Early Miss “Auto”from CKS Or so i thought anyways. It has been 66days and still in veg. I am going to switch over the lights soon but I’m concerned about the size now as I didn’t expect to be vegging a plant for this long before a flip... my question is has anyone used topping just before the light change as a method of stretch reduction? And will it cause any problems to top multiple tips before switching to 12/12

Here is a picture of her she was thirsty here so mind the droop

Nice looking plant, don't grow autos myself. Plenty of tops, you should get a nice harvest.

These fungus gnats have my interest. I am hearing about them more and more. I have grown for lots of years and have never had a bug infestation. Knock on wood. I have had other problems and know how hard it is to get rid of them when they arise. Maybe it is where I am growing or what I am growing with. I know the where helps me out some. I haven't noticed any bugs flying around the tent with the miracle grow soil I am using now. I used to get small flys of some kind with the Fox Farm soils I used. I may have had them before with MG and they went unnoticed or ignored like I did with the FF. While I have had lots of grows with a few tiny fly's moving around. There have never been enough to even worry about. These must be the same gnats that people are talking about. I never saw very many at any one time, plus I never noticed them hurt the plants in any way. Is this the same bug multiplied? Or am I less bothered by a few little gnats.

In a similar position to yourself. Am well into flowering on the current grow, and starting to see a few tiny flies on the yellow stick trap. From my GH experience, yup, these little black flies are "fungus gnats". Am using Neem as a soil drench every couple of feeds which seems to keep the buggers under control. These guys have a grub stage in the soil, and, if you have lots, they will eat out the roots. But...you need to have lots for them to be a problem. Best control method for these gnats is Vectobac...a BT prep that is completely human safe and applied a few times as a soil drench.

I think i may have a few more gnats this grow as the soil mix is heavier and more damp than i really like.

But, this is where i am at the moment and all good. :)

I'm down with my aero and LEDs now -- once U know U can't go back -- I grow in Texas over a hundred plants is a ten year sentence -- makes everything very real !! I grow a SOG rotation which puts me a wee bit over the line !! All clones !! Someone suggested I could make stems into baskets -- One such basket would get me arrested for possession in Texas !! I take a chance every time I post !! For growing a freaking plant -- I truely live in the twilight zone -- not only do I have the assorted Po-Po to worry about -- the cartels catch me growing down here and I die or grow for them !! The old silver or lead choice !! Then there's rippers should U even thing about growing outdoors with three levels of aircraft looking down! Should I get bold and provide anyone with this quality of weed and the Po-Po get wind of it !! They have a special unit to hunt it down and bust the source !! Got a head injury but I ain't stupid !! Welcome to my world !!! Did I mention the roving border patrol checkpoints ?? This Ain't Colorado !!
Texas is the worst state to live in, pertaining to growing marijuana !! it's been like that, all my life, (76 years) and I wonder why people stay there ? All my Xs live in Texas !!

You are probably right, but I live in Texas, I am a native Texan for the past 71 plus years. But you know what? I don't give a fuck anymore, I am 71 and what the fuck are they gonna do, put me in jail. I don't think so, I don't sell, everything I grow is for my own medicine and recreation. I make FECO with most of my grow and use it for my medicine and I also give my group vets that I work with for their PTSD. After my trip to feed the folks in Florida that my son and I just completed, I know what they are going through. My PTSD that I experienced following our trip is what they go through daily. Met with them this weeks to get them some clones and some of the extra cannabis I have and we sat and talked for hours. Those men helped me so much I love them all. We cried, hugged, laughed and just shared our love for each other.
We have got to get it legalized if for nothing else but what it can do for them, those with cancer and all the other abnormalities happening in health today.

Oh i have some over a year old, probabaly enough to make 60 gallons or more. Should i mix my oklahoma red soil?

They will go through it in no time, good stuff.

You & I are in same boat, when it comes to not giving a fuck anymore. And I hope I didn't offend you by saying Texas was the toughest of the tough on pot laws. I mean, I obey most laws, but when it comes to cannabis, I've never respected any laws, any place I ever lived. I did 5 years in the Calif. dept of corrections system, for sales of pot, and the day I walked out the door, I still didn't respect cannabis laws. Most people my age went to Vietnam, and I went Tracy, then San Quentin. I've actually grown pot most of my adult life, but mostly outside, until in 2004, when I retired at 62, because my knees went to hell, I started inside too. But only recently started really learning how to do it correctly. i'm still hiding , cant get used to it being legal !! We legalized it in Ma. 2 yrs. ago !! Didn't think I'd live too see it , but I did !!
And it's a shame how our Vets. get treated in this country, upon returning from war. If the rich folks had to go fight these wars, then they'd be no wars !! I love all vets. and will do anything in my power to help them. Most of the Vets. I know are better growers than I am. Most are now addicts, because of VA Doctors prescribing them drugs. Cannabis oil is helping them kick the heroin & pills, more than anything. Heroin use here is an epidemic !! And not only among Vets., the society !!
I seen the aftermath of Florida after and It looked like a war zone. Thank you so much for helping those folks, I wish I could do same. I used to love going to the Panama Beach area !! I was a long distance mover/truck driver, and was always moving these snow birds down too Fl., but never none out of Fl. They go, they stay !! I don't know why I left !! Now, I live at the bottom of the highest mountain in Ma., with freezing temperatures from about Jan. to Mar. !! Low tonight is mid 20s, high today was 49f. Nice day though !! But we never get hurricanes, and tornadoes are a rare occurrence !! We do get snow up the ass, and It's unbearable cold at times, but I've grown to love it. We'll be getting our 1st. major snow, any day now !!
Do you have a thread about your method of making oil ?

It was a heartfelt experience in Florida, one I will never forget. And of all the years that I have worked with this group of vets, they have come and gone, come back again and to the man are great guys. They helped me a lot when I got back from Fl., although I still have crying attacks at least I know why and that it is not a bad thing.

I do not sell, never have, when I have extra I give it to family, friends, the guys in the group. I am sorry you were jailed, that sucks. But you have to pay the price if caught. One of my best buds was a major dealer/buyer/distributor, he traveled all over the world finding and arranging buys and shipments. He made a fortune but the gov. took it all, he left prison with nothing and has had to restart his life. He no longer sells but is my apprentice in growing and oil making. He is getting much better at growing, did not realize what all is involved in grow quality cannabis.

Yes, I use two methods, I prefer this one the most.

I also make a non frozen oil, heaver and darker than the frozen method.
This is basically the same recipe as above only non frozen.

Good luck my friend!

I would never use native soil in an indoor grow! Organic compost and inputs to a peat or coco base with plenty of perlite and vermiculite, along with ph adjustment with dolomitic lime and /or other nutrients admendments is good. The better diversified the compost pile the better the quality of the fertilizer and the healthier and happier the beneficial organisms may be! Oak leaves, untreated grass trimmings(without seed heads preferable), garden trimmings, barn/coop litter, even fairly fresh animal manure is great! Don't forget kitchen waste! Just leave out citrus, onions and garlic, as well as any dairy, meat or fish! Dried fish meal ,crab shell meal, alfalfa meal, bone meal and etc may be added, but is better used at the time of mixing the potting mix and planting. Ashes may be added to the compost pile sparingly. A compost pile is best built at least three feet cubic in size. Layering different materials will be mixed when you frequently turn over and mix the pile. If well built and sourced,as well as worked frequently(turning), it will develop high temps and destroy the viability of most weed seeds and insect eggs! It is hard to be old or lazy and have a good compost system! I inoculate my pile with rhizoctonia (oakleaf sponge containing it may be found often in well drained piles of oakleaves in woodlands- it is a very light, mostly decomposed sandwich of leaf and fungal fruiting bodies/hairs all in a mass) and or add it to my potting mix. If using coco base, be sure to use calmag sprays! Using native soil/dirt is likely to have problems. Remember diversify when composting! Composting any single source is not as good in many ways to the life sustaining benefits of good well worked compost! You also can make compost tea and use it to feed and water plants occasionally.:rollit:

I can tell you that in Tennessee they will happily put a 70 plus year old man in jail for growing ! They also, may confiscate your home, put your spouse on the street with a pile of whatever they did not want to sell for slush money! You have a good lawyer and money and a very clean record and you may only become relieved of your money and be on probation for years! I hope I live to see free gardens and homes in the entire USA!

Fungus gnats are more of a problem with grows that are watered too much or with methods that keep the pots and media constantly moist/wet. The Bt , and preventing by covering the pots and/or soil surface is a good idea with those methods. Diatomaceous Earth, nylon panty hoses or other methods to exclude insects is advisable. I have used soap, neem oil and pyrethrin cocktails to knock down thrips, lace bugs, gnats and a few other things, including spider mites, sometimes adding rosemary extract or oil. Prevention is the best thing ,if possible. Additions of poorly composted materials and worm compost is often a source of infestations. Only well composted or cooked compost is safe, most likely! Sanitation ,cleaning and humidity control and more cleaning is the cure.

Nice looking plant, don't grow autos myself. Plenty of tops, you should get a nice harvest.
Don't worry about photo periods with auto plants! You never have to switch to 12/12 lighting! Most growers just continue on or go about 18 to 20 hours light to finish with autos. The flowering is automatic,Due to the Ruderalis genes, and will begin at the time that the plants genes makes for it to happen! :)You do not have to have control of light intrusions, therefor you don't need a special tent or room, necessarily! Topping auto plants best to be done before they show signs of flowering/sex traits! On many autos this can be as soon as three weeks after the seedling emerges from the soil in your pot! Later topping can reduce the vigor and yield of autos (smaller buds,etc.). I sometimes can get only one topping before the changes or no more than two times topping! Autos,in general, are pre-determined to bloom fast, and any thing that slows them down once the race to mate has begun can not be made up later! LST can be employed to good effect, just be warned about pruning tops as long into a grow as you might with photo period plants!:rollit:Easy growing, less work, decent fast harvest! That's what autos are all about!:peace: Sorry, Mootah, this was meant for Dutchman' in response to his autos,Early Miss grow and his question about lighting times for autos!

G13 X Santa Marta cross called love Potion #1. I bought 3 seeds from Seedsman Seeds 3 years ago for an outdoor grow. She got so big. But she had seeds in her. So, I saved them. The grow got ripped off the last Red moon we had. But I was able to save the seeds. I have them growing now

so are these what you would call an F2? Since mom was an orginal strain. They say it's better than viagra lol

This thread seems to have died off, should it still be a sticky?

Maybe someone can go through and contact all of the older members in this thread and teach them how to update their email notifications like it was with the old site. Many of them probably got confused and/or forgot.
:Namaste:
