Like the title says its my first dwc and I have a question. I have the water up to the roots right now do I need to get rid of some of it to encourage root grow? I know I need to paint it black but like I said just a test run

Typically you hand water or use recirc pump to spray mist until the roots hit the reservoir but there needs to be an air gap between water & roots….

soil guy here but one of the hydro folks will jump in soon

That is our final bucket. She started in soil and was moved to hydro and she is in a grow room but not to controlled we have her it's only in water no nuts. She is Acapulco Gold and the second picture is the setup and the lights are below
