Aluminum is known to be a toxic metal. Certain studies have pointed to alzheimers in addition to resperitory complications from inhaled aluminum dust. Knowing that this metal is capable of damage to the human body is all the justification I need to rule it out as a viable smoking implement. Whether or not a lighter is hot enough to cause the aluminum to vaporize and enter the resperitory tract is a non issue to me. Anything labeled as potentially toxic should be avoided at all costs.

Furthurmore, there is a solution. Glass is completely non-toxic, so why even bother with that nasty aluminum?

I have used the fine paper from a Gideon's Bible. I cut it to shape, then licked the edge after rolling, while I had a spoon of sugar in my mouth. The sticky saliva makes a great seal. I used parts of the Bible with no text, so it was not a blasphemous act. Holy smokin' lol

I used a wrapper from an unscented tampon that a girlfriend had with her when we were on a road trip on my Harley. We were way out in the Nevada desert and had no other option. It worked well, didn't taste to bad and had very little ash. Not bad for an emergency.

well in jail we...oops... is that TMI? lol Anyway... in jail we used blank bible paper. The trick to getting it to stick was to stick down a torn edge, not a cut edge. When you tear it the fibers stick out like tiny strings and stick to the rolled paper easier when wet.
