Thread editing?

how do i delete or edit a thread ? i see the edit button on this post. but i dont see it on older posts. i have used it on this one. works great.

I just posted a message and it had the word weed in and it was deleted,,.....why ...it's the guys login name............makes me wonder if the message was realy read.

there is a short period of time, i think its 420 minutes but i could be wrong, that you can edit your own posts. after that you should contact a moderator.
