To prevent grow tent from bowing in due to negative pressure

@Rickstertp , first layer on a top of the line machine.

So ive decided to improve upon the prototype. Not as big, smaller, lighter , 1/2 PVC instead of 3/4.

3/4 piece uses 17.97g of material
1/2 uses 10.46g.

@Emilya , my initials in Runic, slightly impressed into my prototype.

Bowing in?
I'm running a single iPower 6 inch (speed controlled down to slow) as an intake fan only on my 2 tents. The exhaust on the main 2x4 is the intake on the other.
I blow them up as similar to balloons as a rectangular tent can be from the air pressure.
I'm very careful with my zippers (if they snag you stop and fix it not force it) and there is definitely a lack of bowing in.
I've been doing it this way for a while now and I've got a long duct on the intake so I suck cool conditioned air up to the tents in the hot 2nd story of the house.
A little extra room is nice with the bowing out and it is sure cheaper cooling the tents this way instead of the entire upstairs. It also works for sucking up hot air in the winter to heat the tents in the unheated 2nd story.

So, what I've gathered from this is essentially, these snaps of mine are 100% useless in your opinion?

This specific product you wouldn't find anywhere. Holes and zipties may work for ya. Currently a decent 3d printer isn't cheap. The one I had turned out to be complete garbage. Will be getting a better one in the coming months. Will be game for doing more of em for anyone else .
Love this idea. I've done the PVC / Zip Tie thing. Hang a fan on it & it slides down the pole. Something I could surely use in the 4' x 8' tent.

Love it. If you're interested, send me a DM.

"Useless"? If they work for their purpose then I'd say they are completely useful. In fact, you'd help everyone who needs snaps in their tents just for repairs.
Is negative pressure needed for carbon filters or something?
What is the purpose of negative pressure? I do not run carbon filters (I don't care about smells) and the only filter I run is in the stairwell the air is drawn from. It has a cheap 3M pleated 16x20 800 micron furnace filter on its vent that the air comes in. Good enough for pollen.
Is it just zippers you all are worried about?

Not sure. Emilya had her 4x8 bowing in , so the snaps, and PVC to brace between, kept the walls of the tent neutral , instead of bowing in. So I did this design up, and I seen the end result, and it's something I would have done for mine, had I kept growing an had a printer at the time.

3D printers are cool. I even put one of those kits together for my nephew (even gave him an additional laptop to run it to go with the other two I gave him; evidently W10 laptops do not run W7 Minecraft correctly; who knew?) and then got him all the bits and pieces for him to make one of those homemade scanners.
I just decided that blowing out the walls makes a bigger tent so I just use a big metal iPower to blow in and keep the air flowing to do so.
Heck, a dedicated section for 3D printed growing accessories would be a nice addition on the site.

Not a bad idea. Have to talk to someone higher up

So , I had to redesign the snaps. These should be alot better. @Emilya , check it. @Rickstertp

@Pennywise , holy sheet. Haven't heard from ya in a while. Keeping well? No covid?

I’m well, no COVID I’ve been working on my herd immunity lol
How’ve you been?
Ooh not too shabby. Haven't been doin much. Won't be sending kids back to school , so were preparing for home schooling.

If I can't find a design on the net (ought to be pretty easy to find on the various 3-D forums my nephew belongs to)
I'll just have my 14-year-old nephew do it with his setup when he has free evening to do it. Knowing him he can do a quick design in 20 minutes that will he can make and adjust if needed. It does not need to be anything but a basic design for me.
He has one of those Anet knock-off kits off of eBay that I assembled for a couple of years ago and he can design simple stuff like that pretty quickly.
Heck, just make a model, scan it, then make it, is what he'll likely do. That would even be quicker than a down-and-dirty quick design.
I bought his last spool so he owes me.
