Trichomes not turning

Currently have a bluecheese auto in day 65 of flower, breeder says 8 weeks flowering time. Chopped the top cola off last week.... Been flushing for a total of 21 days which was not the intention but the trichomes just dont seem to want to turn amber...is there another way to determine when its time to harvest or is the tried and true method of checking trichomes the it all for determining harvest?
Because ive been feeding water only for last 21 days, has this slowed down the process for trichomes to change colors?
Strain is hybrid i believe 60/40 indica....should i just chop her right now with mostly cloudy and some clear?

P.S - not here to discuss flushing, strictly trichomes development.

Thanks in advance

Mostly cloudy is good for a euphoric high, Amber is more couch lock.

As long as they are like 80% cloudy you should be fine.

Just on a side note the breeders estimate of 8 weeks/56 days is probably best case guess. Usually it takes 2 or 3 weeks longer than breeders say.
