Trimming Tray

I bought a 2-part trimming tray on Amazon. The top tray has a fine mesh screen and after trimming my buds I noticed a fine "golden" powder in the bottom tray. Since I'm a newbie I don't have a clue what it is and what I use would use it for. I guess it's important since the tray is built for it.

Hi @Wildbilly and welcome to the forum!
That yellow powder is known as kief. It contains a high percentage of THC, because it is mostly dislodged trichomes and the coverings around calyxes, Lightly dampen the top several inches of a joint and dip it in this, for a very enjoyable treat. Make Moonrocks by dipping buds in this magical powder before putting them in a bowl. Enjoy! I own one of those trim bins too, and love it.
