Triple Threat 2019: Orange Cookies, Gorilla Glue #4, Do Si Dos

Hello. I'm starting an organic outdoor grow. I'll be back to organize but for now I'm posting pics. Grow is 3 different strains. Orange Cookies, Gorilla Glue #4, Do So Dos

I'm vegging them until I can put them outside late May, 1st June. I've got them under 96 watts of basic T5 four bulb fluorescents.

Below pics are over a10 day period from April 25th - May 5th.

Clones started in a nice basic weak nutrient soak and were transplanted to small compost cups with an organic coco based soil named "Roots Organic". Once roots poked through I then potted up to 1 gallon plastic pots. Nutrients used in gallon were: Roots Organic soil, HG Roots Excelurator Gold, Fox Farm Happy Frog steamed bone meal/microbes/fungi (mixed into soil) .

Once outside I'll pot up to 3 gallon fabric pots and during veg ill feed with: Home and Garden 1 Component, same soil with the bone meal and Mychorizae.

Soon as flower kicks in I'll stop the HG 1 component and switch to a kelp based soil treatment and Mad Farmer B1 with another yet to be chosen high K nutrient with a bit of B12. Basically a high P&K bloom buster during flowering, then slow down towards the end with a good flush.

I'll be back soon!

Yes, that Root Excelurator Gold really makes roots EXPLODE! You can download the pic and zoom in to see how fuzzy they actually are! You can also see the beneficial fungi on the outside of the paper cup, which looks like a light grey mold but its actually good growth from the Roots Organic soil Im using.

I've rooted clones in 7 days with Shultz root powder but never seen after roots grow so quick

I got it as a free gift with a purchase from my local hydro store. Normal bottle is gold but the sample bottle is black

Here are some pics of the current nutrients Ive used up until this stage:
Home and Garden Roots Excelurator Gold
Roots Organic Original Coco based high organic matter and fungi soil
Home and Garden 1-Component Nutrients (organic based)
Mad Farmer B1 (I used for anti shock until I got the Roots Excelurator Gold)
Fox Farms (Smart Naturals) Happy Frog Steamed Bone Meal (Mixed into 1 gallon pots prior to planting up from paper cups)

I bought some several days ago and I plan to use it when I transplant.

Good thing is, you don't need to use much at all, so that bottle should last a long time. I mean, fur little growers like us haha

But it works great. Any time I transplant, I water with Root Excelurator. Seems to help

To add more info...

I plan on SCROG for the bulk of these gals but I'm also going to put a few in ground for natural growth. And, I'm going to "top" a couple.

So a few growing natural without cutting while focusing on one HUGE main cola.

Topping a few for a "double" plant growth.

SCROG for the rest.

A few in amended, in ground, soil. Ands the rest in 3 gallon fabric pots. All outdoors

Should be interesting.

Just got a 5 pack non woven 3 gallon fabric pots from Vivosun. So far so good. Pots are made very well, very THICK stitching, feels very secure. They are also very convenient, just grab and move!

So, I decided to pot up again, but just one plant to see what happens. I used the smallest plant which was a "Do Si Dos". Fingers crossed it doesn't go to bud but I think its almost time. I mean, I know June 1st is the date growers like to go by and also from what I've been told here, but I wanted to see what would happen. Considering I have a few plants to spare, I decided to go for an experiment!

Back to the fabric pots! Like I said, they feel and look stronger than I imagined. Ill update in the future if things change, but for now, pics below. Attached is also a photo showing the size of the fabric pot next to a gallon jug and potted plant.

DAY 1 OUTDOOR EXPERIMENT FOR 1(ONE) PLANT(Do Si Dos strain) May 7th, 2019. Same nutrient schedule as above but I didnt add anything this time considering I just fed them not too long ago. I only watered with pure water. Ill re-start the feeding schedule next time around, IF it hasn't went to bud. Fingers crossed it begins a veg cycle now.

Day 13 INDOOR VEGETATIVE CYCLE. BIGGEST ONES ARE ROUGHLY 6" TO 8" TALL

- 4 Bulb T5 Flouro (normal 96 watts 6500k bulbs 12")

-18/6 light cycle on/off

-1 Gallon plastic pots (for now, will pot up once moved outside)

- Soil Medium is Roots Organic Coco base soil with worm castings and beneficial microbes, etc...

- Nutrient schedule, once weekly (Home & Garden Roots Excelurator Gold, Mad Farmer Be One)

-Fox Farms Happy Frog Steamed Bone Meal mixed into pots prior to planting

- I water with pure water in between feedings and allow soil to almost dry out before watering. Roughly once or twice pure water weekly in between feedings

-Ph of soil/water is roughly 6.3

- Temps are roughly 65 degrees F, or less, due to some cold weather but under lights it's a bit higher

- No exhaust fan, only window fan that blows air over plants to strengthen branches

AFTER TODAY, I'LL TAKE PICS ONCE PER WEEK BECAUSE NOT MUCH CHANGES DAILY. I'LL START POSTING AGAIN THIS SUNDAY MAY 12TH.

ALSO, I'LL UPDATE WHEN PUT OUTSIDE, AS I'LL BE ADDING ANOTHER NUTRIENT TO THE SCHEDULE AND ELIMINATING OTHERS.

SEE YOU GUYS SOON!

EDIT: Last 3 (close up) pics below are of GG4 strain (well if I'm to trust my clone source anyways)

Hey BG420.
You have some nice babies going.

I was looking at those grow bags last week and I was wondering how durable they are. Thanks for that.

Hey BG420.

I was looking at those grow bags last week and I was wondering how durable they are. Thanks for that.

Thanks! I think they really like the soil.

In regards to the fabric pots, I got the 3 gallon, which seem wider than taller. They feel really great tho! We'll see how they perform once the ladies get a little larger:)

Day 20 ADDED A 2 IN 1 VIVOSUN GROW TENT

It was easy to assemble but a pain to get into my closet due to my bed being in the way.

The tent is built nice and strong, all metal skeleton, nice thick outter skin, nice stitching and Velcro. Only issue I have so far is the metal hangers (to hang lights) are too thick for their own brand of ratcheting clip hangers, so I had to devise a system of adding "S" hooks that were big enough to hang on the bars.

Any ways, this will be used for mothers and clones. I've got a bunch of "land race" seeds coming. Durban, Columbian, Afghani, Hindu, Skunk, etc...I plan on hopefully breeding some nice genetics and seeds!

Just wanted to share before I put the plants outdoors. Well, actually, I did put half of them roughly outdoors today because not all of them fit inside the left side of the tent.

I KNOW THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE AN OUTDOOR THREAD BUT PLEASE BEAR WITH ME! I'LL BE POSTING OUTDOOR PICS NEXT SUNDAY TO START AND GOING FORWARD! I'LL START A SEPARATE JOURNAL FOR MY INDOOR ADVENTURE!

DAY 24 EVERYTHING IS OUTSIDE NOW!

Finally got everything outside. I planted 2 in ground (1 GG4 & 1 Orange Cookies), 3 others are in pots and will be planted up to 3 gallon fabric pots next Sunday. 1 Do Si Dos is in a 3 gallon fabric pot from a couple weeks ago.

2 in black gallon pots are "topped" (see pics below), while the in ground plants are going to grow naturally without topping, tho I might bend and pin the Orange Cookies down and let it grow sideways up. The other 2 in pots were going to be SCROG but I think I'm going to pass on that until next season, but we'll see! I also stuck the tops of the topped plants into a pot to see if they'd root and so far they are still alive (4 days later!)

The in ground mix was native loam soil with a bag of Doctor Earths planting soil for in ground, mixed with a half cup of Happy Frog Steamed Bone Meal and a bit of organic slow release organic citrus pellets for nitrogen. I top watered after planting with the typical (half strength) Roots Excelurator Gold and Home and Garden Soil Complete. It's raining now so they're also getting a nice watering.

We can also see the Do Si Dos I put out a couple weeks ago in the fabric pot doing great!

Hope everyone's grows are doing well and everyone is on good health, or at least ok health! Haha

Potted everything up and accidentally snapped a plant in the process but I think it actually makes for a better topping. Also put an "anti theft barrier" around the two in ground haha

Plants are a nice dark green... now just gotta wait for buds!

SIDE NOTE... RANDOM "CLONES" GOING ON 8 DAY'S IN OUTDOOR POT

Clones that I stuck in outdoor pot (well technically they're just the tops of a couple plants I "topped" over a week ago) are doing good? still. No dome or protection, just monitoring every once in a while and keeping soil really compact and wet around stem area

Roughly 8 days ago i topped a couple outdoor potted plants and couldn't bring myself to toss out the tops... lol So I just stuck them in a pot and watered with Roots Excelurator Gold. Luckily right after, we had a couple days of rain and cool weather but today and yesterday it's been dry and windy.

I'm at work now but going home soon. Fingers crossed they're ok. I can't believe how tough these babies are!

EDIT: Super windy today and one of the clones looks to be on its last leg. Both look stressed but the GG4 is looking like it might pull through. Pretty crazy
