Purple Urkle harvest part 1... pre chop.
I tried to get some natural light but I didn't want to flash my ladies to the whole neighborhood. Let's start off with some pics I took before harvest... enjoy
Nice plump nugs.... she came out bigger than my last run and I had 3 to 4 main tops per plant.
Looking at these pics makes me think I should be removing leaves while flowering..

I will tell ya i have had good luck dropping my temps with lights out to the low to mid 60s
Been getting great colors..seems cold but does the trick for me with all the dark color plants..
Im in a basement so its pretty easy for me.

Purple Urkle Harvest pt 2.. the chop
Took me almost 8 hours to chop these 4 plants. I took some smoke breaks but I'm glade it's done. My hands were so sticky and I was feeling woozy by the time I was done. Not a bad trim day, I've had longer.
I took this pic because I was excited to have one done... The first one is always kinda ruff until I get into my groove.
Filling up the drying tub...

A nug frowning on a leaf stem... I thought it was interesting
And 8 hours later I was done. Filled up my tub nicely and had enough weight to bow in the sides of the tub. I'll have another update explaining my drying process along with some wet nug shots... Thank you everybody for checking out my journal.

I wanted to drop my Temps more but everybody in the house started getting sick and I kinda felt guilty turning the heater off... plus my lady friend would have killed me if I told her to suffer because I want purple buds...lol

Purple Urkle Harvest pt3... after the chop.
Everything is chopped and drying so I wanted to get some pics for everyone. The buds all look really nice and my tub feels really heavy. It takes me about 4 days to dry so my next update on the Urkles will be some dry shots and weghts..
Everything's looking really frosty. I can tell I was getting tired because I see spots I missed while trimming.
I know there still wet but they smell fantastic already. Once they dry and cure for about 2 weeks they start smelling like fruity pebbles.
The trim.
Even the trim smells good and seems really frosty.
I have the trim spread out into 4 boxes to dry. I usually mix the leaves twice a day to promote a even drying. Once the trim is dry I'll freeze it and start the process of making some bubble hash so I can press it into some Rosin.. I use to ISO my hash until I tried the Rosin tech and I'll never go back.. The taste is really amazing with a low temp press.
Scissor hash. This gets pressed into rosin too.. The flavor I get from fresh scissor hash rosin is amazing. I've tried live resin rosin runs before and I prefer dry runs. The yeild seems better and the rosin seems more stable. My live rosin usually comes out really sticky and oily.
Some buds I accidentally chopped off during harvest.. I call these sample buds

A full tub. I'm kinda suprised how heavy she is. definitely hit my 6 oz mark but I'm guessing I'll be closer to 8. If I hit 10 ill be amazed. I still have a Blackberry to chop so I should easily hit my 8oz for the month.
Since my tents are never empty I had to come up with a way to dry all this bud and this was my solution. The tub use a cheese cloth filter and my tents fans to draw the humidty out through a run of 4inch ducting. After 3 days I'll put a solid lid on and let them finish. My buds have turned out great using this technique and I've never had any issues with mold or over drying. Using my tents fan system also keeps the smell contained.
I'm sure I'll have more updates soon but it's time to smoke..

Well, it's official.. I'm watering every day now....
I'm not going to feed them every day so I think I'll use just water in between there scheduled feeding. I need to stick to 3 gallon pots and stop trying to run 2 gallons.
Birthday Cake with a little frosting. We're almost at the half way mark and there going fast. If I still have tons of herb at 8 weeks I'll let her go nine this time just to see how she likes it.
Big fat calyx under my leaves. I had to check a few because they're really big already. They're all seedless..

Update...
What a ruff week. With work, taking down my grow and putting it back up, watering, training, harvesting, curing and still having time for the family I'm completely worn out and I'm sitting on my porch smoking a purple urkle joint to my head while I make this update.
I chopped the blackberry after a 7 day flush and I'll post pics of her before chop soon. I'll also have a purple Urkle harvest update after that and then I'll get back into a regular schedule.
BirthdayCake at almost 5 weeks... Nice and frosty and she's back on a every 2 day watering schedule. The extra soil and daily waterings helped her out.. She's happy and will come down in 3 weeks..
Two pics of the Orka Coookies... there a week behind the Bday cakes but she seems to take her sweet time.. I'll most likely run her 10 weeks..
One of the Blueberries that just started her/his flowering scheduel. I need to keep my eyes on these three and watch for males. 2 of the plants look nice but totally different. The third plant seems like she hates life because she's a ugly mutant.
Purple Urkle x Orka cookies. These three are as happy as can be. No complaints with them. Nice strong healthy ladies..
The Blueberry I broke. She seems like she's ok so I put her in flower.. I hope it's a she..

Blackberry harvest..
She finished up quicker than I thought and kept showing signs of late flowering defecincies so I flushed her and she's chopped and drying.
Nug shots:
The tops all turned out great. Nice and fat just like I wanted. Not really any white hairs left and I think she was done packing on weight. She smells like all the other blackberries I've grown but looks nice and plump this run. I'm excited to get her dry so I can sample her
Whole plant shots.
I have a hard time getting clear plant pics but I did my best. I cram a lot into my 4x4 so her tops are pulled close together. She did really good with the little canopy space she had..

Purple Urkle Harvest.. final update
Well everything is semi dry due to my high humidity and rainy weather. Poping my jars just wasn't doing want I wanted so everything is paper bagged in a attempt to draw out some more moisture.
Weight. 7.8 ounces minus the two small jars of popcorn.
With the blackberry I'm drying I definetly hit my 8 oz mark.. woot..woot..
The buds all came out dense and frosty. I definetly had a hard time capturing the purple colors with all those d@mn trichomes.
They smell like grapes and fruity pebbles at the moment and is super potent.. Everybody who's enjoyed her so far during the day is getting burned out after a couple hours. Definetly a night time smoke for most..
Half the nugs pictured here will be donated to my loving mother..
She's going to love it!!
