Green Bay, Wis. - A mother faces charges of child abuse and false imprisonment after being accused of chaining her daughter to a bed as punishment because the girl allegedly took a backpack filled with marijuana from the house.
Police said they found the 15-year-old girl chained to the bed after she was able to call authorities using her cell phone Friday.
When police unchained the girl she told them there were drugs in the house. Police said they seized marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
The 36-year-old Green Bay woman was charged Monday in Brown County Circuit Court with child abuse involving intentional harm, false imprisonment and possession of marijuana.
Investigators quoted her as saying she handcuffed and chained her daughter to keep her from running away.
