VA: Williamsburg Police Seize 14 Pounds Of Marijuana, Cash From Home

Williamsburg Police seized roughly 14 pounds of marijuana and more than $10,000 in cash from a home in the 4000 block of Battery Boulevard Friday evening, after being called to the area for a domestic disturbance, officials said.

Dispatch received the call about 7:20 p.m., according to a police news release. Police spoke to a couple who had been arguing. The male provided police with a false information about his identity, the release said. While trying to confirm the male's identity, police found a suitcase with a large amount of marijuana and other narcotics in his possession, the release said.

The male was taken into custody and transported to the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail. He was charged with one count of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, two counts of possession of schedule two narcotics, and two counts of possession of schedule four narcotics.

Officers also found the male has several outstanding charges in New York, New York. The male was identified as 31-year-old Coshaun Bryant. An officer also obtained warrants on the involved female, identified as 22-year-old Jasmine Perry, the release said.

Police found a small amount of marijuana in Perry's possession; she was charged with possession of marijuana and obstruction of justice, the release said. She was served without incident, according to the release.
