Vacuum cleaner disaster!

Today....the room was getting cleaned...and one of the plants happened get sucked into the vaccum....the new growth top got all fucked up, and one of the leaves from the nodes below....my buddy pinched the top off where the new growth was...hopefully new growth will come in....now should the damaged fan leaf be cut off, or should it stay....half of it is literally gone!

they are just starting their fifth set of leaves...so we figured that topping it now was ok.

any suggestions besides not using a vaccum near them again?

lol, I'm a little puzzled as to how the top of a plant gets 'accidentally' sucked into a vacuum. Sounds like it won't spell the end for the plant though, that's good.
