Hi there bud,

I dig the organic grow. You seem to have a very good formula dialed down, plants sure like what you are doing. I tried seaweed as a mulch layer around my plants (but gorwing outdoor).

mind if I ask whats the NPK of the barley sprout tea? if you had an idea, like high in nitrogen or phosphorus ? Im all about compost teas as fertilizer for organic growing.

Hey there! Welcome to my grow! I'm still trying to figure all this Organic Living soil out... I'm using SST to help supercharge my soil. My understanding is that SST (Sprouted Seed Tea) is used to provide enzymes and growth hormones. I am sure there is some nutritional value but I am not sure what the NPK is. Here is a write up on Sprouted Barley tea from "Alchemia" website. They have instructions for different sprouted seed teas and a good write up on their website.

:hookah:

"Sprouted barley grains contain are very high in enzymes and gibberellins, as well as many vitamins, minerals, amino acids and nutrients. As well as the growth-promoting effects of gibberellins, barley SST is principally applied in order to establish and maintain the enzymes in the substrate. These enzymes help to digest dead roots, keeping the substrate and root zone in good health, as well as potentiating the soil food web and improving nutrient uptake. Some of these enzymes, specifically chitinase enzymes, have been shown to have an inhibiting effect against fusarium, a pathogenic fungus that causes great losses in agriculture as well as in cannabis gardens.

If whole barley grains are difficult to find then malted barley is a good substitute. Because the grain has already been sprouted as part of the malting process, this is a much faster method and will only need to be steeped, or "bubbled" in water for a few hours to make a natural enzyme tea, although freshly-sprouted seeds will always be more effective. To use malted barley add 2 tablespoons per gallon of water. Apply this or Barley SST once a week during vegetative growth and then give a top-up application roughly halfway through the flowering period."

Happy Fathers Day fellow farmers! The girls are growing like weeds! It's been about 8 days since I flipped to flower 12/12. I am getting a little bit of stretch and I am seeing some lady parts. Tallest plant (Ayahuasca) is just over 34", the shortest (Purple Kush) is just over 32". I watered Friday with 4 gallons RO water (treated with mosquito dunks), Alfalfa sprout SST, big six micro nutes, buildabloom, silica, coconut water, sns 209 (1 gallon of mixture to each plant). I have still been seeing occasional Fungus gnats, I'll go a day or two not seeing any, then I will see a few. I ordered some "Tanlin drops" that are supposed to get rid of them for good. Hopefully they will arrive this coming week. Yesterday I raised my lights to maximum height, they are now 14" above the tallest plants. Here are some pics from Friday evening just after watering.

Happy Saturday fellow Farmers! Things are coming along nicely in my grow space! Looks like most of the tops have stretched enough to see the light, I have tucked a few fan leaves here and there to help expose the tops to the light. Today I top dressed the pots with a mixture of neem meal, crab meal, kelp meal, insect frass, green sand, dolomite lime and Sprouted barley flour. I also watered soil with Alfalfa Sprouted seed tea to 4 gallons RO water, which I added, yucca extract, coconut extract, BAS big six micro nutes, BAS Buildabloom, Agsil 16h potassium silicate, Calcium, SNS-209 and Tanlin also called T drops (to rid fungus gnats). Yes I am still having a few fungus gnats... I just bought a bottle of the T-Drops, Guess we'll see if this will finish them off once and for all...

Here is some Baby bud pics from today...

That's quite a line-up there, V! Your plants must love it. ❤

They seem to be loving it so far! I'll back off on the dry top dress amendments, should be enough to get through flower. I also added a few fresh picked and chopped up Bocking 14 Comfrey leaves to my mulch layer, the worms should appreciate that.

I grow the same comfrey. Plants seem to like it.

How often to you top dress, both in veg and flower?

I'll top dress with dry amendments before beginning of grow and again in veg then again beginning of flower (and vermicompost with worms and cocoons before beginning grow) . I bought "Craft blend" from Build a SoiI and have amended with that the beginning of this grow and again a few weeks ago. I just started growing the comfrey, I needed some more plant matter for a mulch layer. Just now really dialing in a program, kind of been following Coot's style and some blogs from BAS. I started with this soil spring of last year (now on it's 3rd grow), it is Sohum soil. I had Coot's mix all made up then I got spider mites and ended up throwing out the soil after that grow, I didn't have the time to make more Coot's, so I just bought the Sohum. I ended up having a deficiency on my first grow with it. So I have been amending the heck out of it since then and it seems to be doing its job now. I have another raised grow bed in my indoor grow space, approximately 34" x 34", has about 9 CF of coot's mix, I use that for growing lettuce, spinach, Bok choy. It's sitting empty right now, I need to get that growing again... Then again Maybe I'll use it on my next cannabis grow and try and get a 1 pounder Auto like @Jon is going to do... I had a Orange cookies auto go around 110 days my last grow and got around 1/2 a pound off that.

I just turned up the lights from 300 watts to 450 watts. My lights are as high as they can go. I had to add a few more bamboo stakes and bow over and tie down a few more of the tops. Now the tallest ones are around 13" from the light. Hopefully the stretch is over... So much for thinking I would be growing some short plants... Breeder says Ayahuasca grows to 39.5" tall indoors, they would be closer to 45" now if I haven't been tying them down. Purple kush breeder says 32" tall and they would be over 40" if I haven't been tying them down.

Is that a joint hidden in the leaves, or is that just a support beam....Or maybe I'm just high x'D!

HaHa:rofl:!!! Yes you are probably high! It is a bamboo stake. Plants are getting too tall, needed to bow them over and tie them down. You would probably only see a vaporizer in my grow room…

New addition / upgrade to the grow space today, I bought 2 AC Infinity High speed Axial muffin fans and a dual controller. Fans are rated at 211 CFM each on high speed. I installed them low under the canopy. Plenty of airflow down under now for sure...

I have not seen any fungus gnats for a few days, hopefully that battle is over. I have had to bow a few more tops over and stake them down as they were getting too tall. Below are some pics from today.
