~ Tangerine Dream auto by Barney’s Farm ~ ​

Tangerine Dream is a mostly sativa feminized cross between Nevilles Haze A5 and G-13. The THC level reaches 23%, and the CBD level is 1.8%.The plant has a modest size of 90-100 cm. It develops strong colas and side branches overflowing with large fat buds.

It is recommended to support branches in the last weeks of flowering. After about 65 days, a 500g/m2 crop will appear. Tangerine Dream from Barney's Farm grows equally well indoors and outdoors. In the Northern climate, the harvest will be by the end of October. The effect of Smoking is cerebral, long-lasting and ultimately relaxing. This is a fast and powerful hit! The smoke has a citrus taste and aroma.

Howdy!
Had one left over seed and wanted to test something interesting this time. So whats better than DIY dwc system for a micro growery!
I’ll be using mostly the 60x40cm cabinet and depending how big she gets I might move her to flower inside the tent.

First let’s get to the mini DWC setup:

• The bucket I’m using is 1 gallon ”berry bucket”.

Full capacity is 5L when filled to the top, but we’re runnin roughly 2L of solution so we’re ~1.5inches below the net cup.

• 8" Air stone tubed to BOYU’s 240L/h air pump

Hole for 4" net cup & and inserted hooks on the lid for easier LST.

Made the scale to check the water level. LOL bucket looks lil ugly, duct tape all over the place I’ll cover the edges with mylar film later when it arrives.

Rest of the setup/rig:
- Lighting: 45W Corn LED, 2x 100W LED panels, 250W HPS and probably Mars TS 1000 later in flower.
- 60x40x140cm Cabinet without air venting. Ive an exhaust drill on the door and I’ll be only using small clip fans to circulate air inside the cabinet. Prob opening the door that many times per day so the air wont stay too stagnant.
- Nutrient linear is still completely open. GHE bottles are almost empty and been thinking about @Remo Nutrients

Germination 12/31/2021 - 1/2/2022

Soaked and buffered Jiffy7 coco peat and hydroton in 6pH solution mixed with Hydroguard, Root booster and Seaweed/Kelp extract.

Only couple days later

And later she was transplanted into DWC net cup when cots opened.


The plan
First Main-Lining experiment! And before you say anything, yes I do know its an autoflower. But this microgrowery is more like an experimental test how well I manage to combine hydro growing and sucha aggressive pruning.
If everything goes smooth and I manage to keep her small enough to fit in 1.75x2 cabinet it could turn into a grow’n’show.

First Main-lining takes place as soon as 4th node has fully opened and 3rd set nodes are at least half an inch long.
I’m aiming for 8 potential colas, but will see how long she stays in veg.

As she gets bigger and starts to drink more like 1-3L per day, then Ive to consider moving her into 10L (2.5gallon) bucket. Hopefully we can keep it small, neat and simple!

And update/wraup up of the 2nd week:

Ive changed the solution couple times already and the current reservoir has:
- 0.5ml/l GHE Micro
- 0.5ml/l GHE Bloom
- 0.25ml/l GHE Grow
- 0.5ml/l Canna Magnesium
- 1.5ml/l GHE Fulvic
- 0.5ml/l Hydroguard

TDS: 470ppm / EC: 0.9

Rooties at day 12:

Two nights ago don’t know what happened but reservoir pH had fallen down to 4.2!!!! Yikes!
She looked like this and growled whole day. I guess there was some micro nutrient tox/excess due the low pH. Fortunately roots were all goodie and white as baby jesus.

Today 1/17 at day 14 she looks much happier again.
Trying to avoid all these stumbling blocks to not stunt her too much when its time to main-line.
healthy plant = more likely to succeed.

Sounds interesting! With photos youve got lot of more time to veg them into the desired shape.
Also take notes from my mistakes as I start her surgery operation.
And yes if the 4th pair of leaves opens tomorrow, then I’ll be giving her the first topping.

Heh I’ll try to explain you best as I can
The bucket did penetrate light for a bit, so had cover the lid and edges with tinfoil and duct tape.
As the dwc runs, lid and plant on it, by then wont be able to see the water level. BUT when lifting the lid and light hits the water surface it creates the shadow and then I can see the water level from outside.
Double checked the bucket for light leaks and it seem to be light proof enough. At least roots are looking super happy and growing mad fast.

Hello! So decided that 15th day is the first day for the surgery. Had smoke couple encouragement-bowls before I dared to take scissors

What yall folks think about those three fingered leaves below? Should I cut them off as well and leave the first real leaves only?
I figured theres not much foliage left so she possibly could benefit right now from one more pair of leaves(?)
…Or do they retard the growth as those leaves not having nodes anymore?



Now she having close to perfect environments to recover!
Cabinet temp: 24C
Humidity: 65%
Reservoir temp: 18C
And around 400ppm at steady 5.9pH

And 45W corn LED ~6 inches above - she looks to love that spectrum.
