Vetsmoke Goes Perpetual With Bonsai Mothers, Clones & DIY Builds

So the trimmers came out again tonight and I've taken 4 or 5 of those thin branches coming up in the centre of the manifold. Decided I wanted as much light and energy going to those 8 main colas as possible. Still kept 2 or 3 of those middle branches just to see what they do. It's opened her up nicely anyway. Think I might bump her next feed to 5g/G.

Bonsai land has looked better. They've slowed right down and their colour just isn't right. Got some spots and brown tips. I think they are either hungry or root bound.

So the tent and filter I ordered are apparently out of stock so they're sending me better quality alternatives. Vortex 4" filter and a prodigy tent. They've told me the dimensions are identical but so far I can only find the closest prodigy tent at 40x40x100. Think there's a 50x50x120. Maybe it's a new size they're doing. We'll see what turns up. Either way it looks like I've got at least £30 discount on what the alternatives would normally cost.

Sweet! It's nice when it works out that way.

Which size tent did you order?
Yeah can't complain. They only just arrived in stock today so I think they'll be shipped tomorrow most likely. Bit of a delay but that's okay. I ordered a 40x40x120 monsterbuds tent originally. The shop said the prodigy tent dimensions are identical but I can't find one that size online anywhere.

Latest idea for the inbound tent. I want to maximise the space inside the tent so I'm going to try mounting the filter outside the tent. Now I know it's not ideal but here's my thinking. There's a 6" vent in the top so I thought I'll get a 6" inline fan and a 6" to 4" reducer. Have the fan mounted vertically in the vent with the spacer and filter coming up on the outside. Secured to the hanging rail in the wardrobe. Run the fan dialled down on a speed controller. This way it should be pretty quiet and still shift enough air. The tent is only 6.78 ft3 after all so it won't take much to cycle that. I'll then have a 6" plastic elbow for one of the lower intake vents. Sprayed black inside and meshed over both ends. Oh and I'll put the filters pre filter over the fan intake to help protect the fan and filter. In my mind this will work but I guess there's only one way to find out. If it doesn't then I'll just have to reconfigure it.

That’s what I do I have 6 inch duct hose hanging from the top vent drawing out the hot air into a can beside the tent .
then a fresh air fan opposite blowing in the bottom side vent . Zero smell. Until the zipper is open .
I’d rather buy a new filter every year than minimize my space ;)

Good to know it can work. I wish I'd decided on it earlier and just got a 6" filter, but I'll try it with the 4" thats on the way and have to order a 6" if it's not up to the job. My light takes up bugger all space so I should be able to use most of that 120cm height this way. Yeah a new filter every year won't exactly break the bank hey.

get the biggest filter you can afford ( in my experience )
Took some pics for you . This filter is at least 3 ft long and I could probably tee it for both tents to be sure with a more powerful fan :)
Namaste !

First up is GG. She's now 8 weeks old and 11 days since the flip. Growing nicely and keeping a fairly even canopy. Really looking forward to seeing what she looks like in a couple of weeks. She's a mighty 1ft tall now  Still a bit more to go I hope.

Next we have the Critical Mass. She's 26 days old now. Doing okay but I'm not overly happy with her colour although she seems to have perked up a bit since she was fed yesterday. She drinks fast too compared to the OG. She'll be almost dry again within 24hrs of a feed.

Lastly we have the OG Kush. She's 24 days old today and the funniest little bush I think I've grown. Her oldest fan leaves look awful now but like the Critical she seemed to perk up and grow a little over night after the last feed.

Quick pic of GG this morning before lights off. I've lowered her pedestal a bit. Happy with the way she's going and think the bud sites are stacking up nicely. Later on I'll have a good look at the light penetration and tuck what leaves I can and maybe some light defol.

Little ones are cracking on. Hopefully in a few weeks I can take the first cuttings. Critical Mass on the left and OG Kush on the right.

I did some more defol on GG. Think I've opened her up to get more light lower down without taking too much off. Time will tell. She looks good though.
