Here's my first question. Might as well get things started.

You'll see that my T5 light fixture is about 12" above where the seedlings will be. now that two have cracked, the lights will come on at 7pm. Will keep em on for 18hrs.

Should they be closer? I've read anywhere from 5-12". I dont want to roast these things. Trying to maintain around 27/81f right now until all crack, then bring it down a bit.

Also, in this pic, you'll see that I have the option for two bulbs on, then the two outside added if I want. Should I go with the two mid for now? Then add the outside ones when they get a bit stronger?

The fixture is new, so I've never used the system before.

Thx,
V

I'd give em a bit to adjust before dropping closer.

Make sure they are stable before introducing any stress. They are so damn fragile as babies.

Thank you. So you think just go with the two mid lights for now? Then add the other two? Or all 4 on and leave it at 12"?

And when to remove the covering cups?

I'd stick with 2 bulbs for a few days, then increase to 4.... once you know they are up & stable, lower inch by inch. If you see a reaction from the plant, back off.

Ah perfect. And take the humidi-cups off now that they've cracked?

I slowly introduce them to the world. I leave caps on for 2-3 days, then take em off in increments until they are off permanently.

Good morning growers,

I'm happy to announce 100% germination on my five girls. The last one popped early this morning, and joined her four sisters on the beach. Sadly, the tent is a good enough size for about four plants, so a lucky buddy will likely adopt one once she's ready to go.

For the sake of the pictures, I've removed the humidity domes, but they'll stay on until tomorrow or so.

Temp with lights on and off 26c/80f. Will adjust to have nighttime temp a few degrees lower once the domes are lifted and they're strong enough.

Thanks!
V

Yep we do!

I just took off four of the five for an intro to the environment for nighttime. Also to dry the cups a bit. Might have watered a bit too much. One still too young for the tent. No fans yet.

One of them looks to want the light. She grew quick and skinny. Will give a few of four hours of light, then replace the cups for the rest of their day. The problem is, I think the cups have a bit of tint. May keep the plants hungry.

You think?

When would you introduce a light breeze?
