The original run off after 2gal of tap water was 1350ppm. After the sixth gallon, the tap water ran off at 400ppm. My tap water is 160ppm. After feeding, the final runoff, on an average for the four watered plants was around 600ppm. The feed was at 1100ppm. I suppose I was just pushing all that tap water through, so it was reading mostly that coming out, rather than what was going in. Thank god for a Shop Vac.

Four days from flush and feed w/CalMag and things are coming along well. Early results are positive. Have a look. Sorry about some blurry ones.

Ah ok, thanks. So every 4th, do a complete flush like I did? Im guessing that I have about 6 feedings left, so that would work pretty good near the end of flower. It would leave one or two feedings before chop.

Maybe then, as you've suggested, I just feed them 3 gallons of feed each and get a good runoff to keep the salts moving.

About a week since my last post, and the girls have come along well. Since backing off the CalMag, the girls seem fine when adding the bump up.

The front two plants started showing a bit of a deficency, so I upped them to 7.0. The other three are still at 6.5. They all seem happy. Going to do a semi-flush on the next feeding.

OK going back it looked like the original issue was P def, either from lockout or lack of food. Plant was flushed/reset shortly after.
4 days later and plants have improved. F-F-F-W schedule.

11 days later calmag stopped and MC increased and girls seem happy except two which got 7g of MC which showed a def.

So there's not much to consider. I think I would just run the course out and maybe add some calmag back in... I just read Shed's post before posting and plain water til runoff sounds like a good plan.

Outside of the issue showed up after the calmag stopped I don't see anything wrong. Another reset to get back on track would work but I suspect his plants are nute sensitive and he could use less easily. The plants are healthy and green.

All of that sounds likely. I probably was pushing too hard. In my head, I've heard from first geow to this one that WW is a hog, so, something wrong? Bump up, she can take it. Well, how do we learn? Fail and take notes. The hope is the failure isn't a complete disaster and I'd hardly say we are there here. Earlier in flower and I might feel differently.

I just finished running 4 gallons through each pot. Significant runoff. In the end, PPMs ranged from 750-900 after the 4th jug.

I wont see them after tomorrow morning until Sunday eve, so I should be able to see a good change in either direction.

I'm guessing that theres one, maybe two feeds to the finish.

You always have to consider that everything is good with the medium when working with MC. If so, then MC used alone when following the calculator will never cause a def imho, but it will create uptake issues for other nutes when too much is added which is often diagnosed as a def.
So you have to know when enough is enough. I'm trying to make grower's understand now you want to find the minimum amount of MC to use as opposed to the maximum amount. Pushing MC hard is not the way to make the product work. Let the plant dictate when it needs more. I too got caught up in this early until my third grow with MC and it all started making sense that I was going beyond the limits. I adjusted during that and have been happy ever since.

I think, in a weird way, we need to see the upper limits with our own eyes. Seems foolish. I think you're right about finding the lower limits - healthy plant with less. Why not?

Seeing the ladies after about 48 hours, it looks as if things have not gotten worse, which to means that they've gotten better. Thanks all, for the good suggestion to feed plain water. I think it loosened things up.

Sorry that there aren't any pictures, but I missed the lights off by about five minutes. Will get some tomorrow.

Taking a closer look, the first few foggy trichomes have shown up! A couple questions: how long on average do they have left, do you guess? And does anyone do the 36-48 hours of darkness before chop? Or is it bogus? I've read both.

I've read both but it didn't make a difference for my grow, and I know Dutch and SweetSue both tried it and gave it up after seeing no difference. Try it and see as I don't think if can do any harm other than 12 hour less light!

Tag a bud, take some pics, and then see how it's changed after the dark period. Before and after baby!

Hey folks,

Feed day yesterday, 5.5g and the girls look pretty good. I think for some, the 4gal plain water feed slowed the yellowing for one and for another plant brought it on. They all look to be hitting some yellow of some sort, but only in the upper leaves. The lower leaves seem to still be green.

Buds look good and the tent smells great. I don't think I need to be too worried. Still a few foggies, but mostly clear.

Given the size and age of those buds, feel free to go to 6g/gallon and feed to some runoff every time. But I don't think you need to worry about the yellowing this late in the game. There's plenty of green left.

Just when I think we're getting close to harvest, the trichomes just wont seem to fog up to the point of ready.

Just over 9 weeks from flip.

Yellowing due to lockout/deficency seemed to slow, but not stop. No real harm, in my opinion. Buds look pretty good on most. I'll be happy with the yeild, but now going for quality.

Aiming for Tuesday, but we'll see...

Solid buds and lots of them! Feel free to pull the yellows if it makes you feel better when you open the tent. The plant is practically done with them and there's still green left to do the photosynthesis thing!

So been in a bit of a holding pattern for a couple of weeks.

Taking a look through the loup, I remembered having trouble seeing the fog last time, even under normal light. A few ambers have popped their heads up, so I'm guessing I missed the fog. Always saw a few, but looked mostly glassy. Can you have amber without fog?

Anyhow, as it stands, chop is scheduled for Thursday.
