Vulx Volcanic Soil Amendment: Corporate Introduction

Vulx

Well-Known Member
We're excited to introduce ourselves as a corporate sponsor of 420Magazine.

We started Vulx with one simple goal in mind: to create an effective, sustainable soil amendment that not only grows better plants, but contributes to a better environment.

Vulx is a soil amendment comprised of naturally occurring volcanic minerals which have been milled, mixed, and activated through a proprietary process and shown to:
  • Reduce water requirements by 50%
  • Provide 40-50% nutrient savings
  • Increase yield by 10-40% (10-20% is readily attainable, 40% is usually achieved by dedicated, experienced cultivators)
There are also secondary benefits as well:
  • Buffer soil pH
  • Loosen soil structure
  • Increase soil buffer capacity
  • Increase mycelium production in living fungal soils
To be sure, these are some bold claims, but we've never given a sample or made a sale to date that did not perform as advertised.

We look forward to working with this great publication and its forum members to reduce the environmental impact of cannabis cultivation by making the environmentally friendly choice easy (and profitable)!

Vulx is currently available for commercial orders only - but we are working hard to finalize the retail side and will keep everyone updated when it all goes through! For custom pricing, go to our shop page and fill out the grower questionnaire and a team member will reply with a customized quote based on the information you provide.

We try do our best at staying on top of everything and keep up with cutting edge technology, and keep other members as informed the best we can, knowledge is power. Again, welcome along and we look forward to your product coming to a consumer level

Welcome @Vulx ! Whacha growin? Would be cool to see what you guys test on. Interesting stuff on your website too.
One thing that happens around here with us newbro's is chronic overwatering. A amendment that produced greatly increased results and forced you to have to be considerate about watering and nutrient habits would be a pretty neat benefit!

Interesting point - we always give a hefty warning with our samples that if you do not reduce your watering habits in your indoor grow then you will absolutely overwater the plant. Vulx does not cause pooling so the problem doesn't exist for outdoor grows.

We are currently doing a test grow on tomatoes with the help of an old friend based in Louisiana. There are some results of other plants on the Product Details page of the website.

Are you going to have your product reviewed by either a 420 product tester or just an interested and experienced 420 member? Some reviews of your product being used on cannabis would be a benefit. I bet there are a few growers here that would jump at the chance to review for you.

I'm working with their product testing team to arrange the shipment. If there are growers that are interested in receiving samples I'm more than happy to oblige of course.

I would be happy to test a sample.

The more the merrier! Send me a DM here or on any of our social media accounts or via the contact form on the site.

If you can include the volume of the pots you use or - even better - the weight of soil per pot we can send you enough to test on 2-3 plants. Usually we send enough for more than one in case you experience nutrient burn or overwatering from not cutting back enough on what you use.

Just as an FYI while theoretically Vulx would work in hydroponic/aeroponic systems we have not tested that because practically the application doesn't really make sense due to the fact that it's in powder form. We get asked that quite often!

Does this work with coco or pro mix? I'm guessing that you don't want to use it in any soil with slow release nutrients. Would something like Fox Farms ocean forest work? Or do you think that the soil is too hot and it should be used with a regular potting soil without the extra NPK?

Does this work with coco or pro mix?

It works in any substrate as long as it's mixed thoroughly.

I'm guessing that you don't want to use it in any soil with slow release nutrients.

Slow release nutrients are fine, but they often allow for less control over the NPK mixture and aren't always uniform in their release. The more control you have and the more precise you can be, the better.

Would something like Fox Farms ocean forest work? Or do you think that the soil is too hot and it should be used with a regular potting soil without the extra NPK.

Something that contains a lot of nutrients and relies on natural processes to replenish NPK in the soil solution will be very much enhanced - the mixture has a tendency to increase the buffer capacity of substrates (for those reading this that aren't familiar, the buffer capacity refers to natural processes in the soil that release the nutrients to return the soil solution to equilibrium). So like you said if the organic mixture is really hot and works without adding extra NPK you're very likely to experience nutrient burn.

Being able to dilute the nutrients is vital for premixed stuff, especially organic sources of nutrients. These mixtures are designed to work out of the box and Vulx is designed to allow you to use less than what you normally would - therein lies the dilemma.

Generally you are correct that "neutral" soils that need to have the NPK mixed in lead to a fine-tuned mixture that delivers the best results and the greatest cost savings.
