What’s going wrong with this one branch? The only two bud sights in whole garden doing this? Help!

Looks like mites
I looked but see nothing moving, it’s weird! I ended up cutting that out just in case decided to infect the whole room!! But I was doing some crazy experiment to see what would happen if I put two different strain seeds next to each other, well the other one decided to turn male so had to cut it out, but I wonder if that also could be sign of root bound or possibly nute burn. I mean it can’t be too healthy for two plants to grow their roots together and then the males roots might be causing an infection to the female since it’s no longer alive! I guess this could be a learning curve if anyone out their wants to try doing the same thing!
 
Wow I really hope not but I’m pretty sure I cut it before they opened open pollen but you never know you could be right. Appreciate the help my friend happy growing!!!
