What am I growing? And why are my buds in such bad shape? Help!

Hi thanks for that my problem was when it was in the scrog net i had very little movement in my grow space, in the end i had to take the scrog net away as it was becoming to difficult,because i had to lift the whole plant plus the net and push another bucket underneath then do the reverse to put a fresh bucket in there,

i thought of a siphoning kit but was worried about leftover salts and nutrients stuck to the inside of the bucket and guessed that over a period of 3 months of not cleaning the inside of the bucket might pose a problem,if it does not cause a problem not cleaning the inside then will defiantly get a siphoning kit thanks for the input
 
I pump out my old solution, dump in 2 or 3 gallons of fresh ph'd ro, and use my hand to wipe off the sides and the stones/lines, pump that back out then pump in my fresh nutes. I only do this every 2nd or 3rd change and have not had any problems from build up in any of my grows. It worked well with the scrog in place. The whole framework i use just lifts up with the plants.
 
got to be honest just from the small picture you have provided your set up looks very very professional, i would love to sit with you share some nice smoke and pick your brains for an hour or two,anyway i have decided to do exactly what you have demonstrated it looks much easier than the clusterF++k i was doing every nute change,

I love to talk shop... Cant do it much with anyone in my real life but its so much fun. Thank you for the compliment. I started out with a cardboard box, some cfls and a wire bookshelf 2 years ago and upgraded when i got $. Lights first, then grow space then switched to hydro. Every grow gets better and better and i always learn something new.
 
Well like i said from what i saw it looks very pro, im using hydro and think ill stick to it but i really want to switch to led i struggle with temps so if you have any recommendations on a good led for a grow space about 1200mmx800mmx2000mm for under $350 thats about £280 i would be gratefull, do my plants look like they should be harvested to you or should i let it roll on, to be honest she seems to be getting fatter by the day and is still drinking 6 litres of water a day
 
If she is still drinking and fattening up i would probably let her rock on. How are your trichomes looking? Do you have a magnifier/microscope to check them?
My old style mars 300 are nice and i got 2 of them for $120 w/shipping so theyre definitely affordable and a good gateway into leds if youre low on funds. Check out Neils(aka LEDRF) perfect sun lights on you tube or his website, growpotcheaply.com. his lights are awesome as are the grows that people are doing with them. I am looking at the dwarf star for my tent. My english to metrics conversion is iffy but i can say he has a bunch of different sizes to fit different grows.
 
I agree the old MH 300 and 600s are great entry level deal. But if you can swing it I found the Mars Reflectors are worth the extra money. Right away I had much denser growth, better branching. I still use the 600s mixed with my reflectors and they work well together.
 
Yeah, i use 2 mars 300s and a 400 watt dimmable hid. My buds werent that dense with just the leds but man o man were they frosty. Now i get the density of hid and the frost of led.
 
Thanks very much for the input lads funny the led,s you mentioned i was looking at especially the dwarfstar but might just be out of my price range ,on the new mars reflectors will there be much difference between the cree and epistar ones?

Ans i to was thinking of maybe still mixing it up with a 150w or a 250w hps i dont know why im no light specialist but there seems to be something about the light spectrum off hid,s that plants just love,

oh and the conversion is basically my space is about 2.5feet x 4 feet,

i will invest in a magnifier on Saturday because like i said she is still drinking between 3 and 6 liters of water a day and im sure the buds are still growing its just been almost 15weeks in flower now but as i said in this post earlier she had a very difficult up-bringing which has led to the long flowering time plus the fact she is a 100% sativa i would just hate to ruin all my hard work by harvesting her to early,

to be honest im finding this part of the grow the most difficult for a number or reasons ive come quite attache to my little plant lol

Thanks again lads for the prompt reply i might just get in touch with sara might have to wait till after harvest, i just love the look of the perfect sun but i think that might be to powerful plus its over $1000 plus postage to UK thats nearly £800 its a shame you couldn't get single units of that light, would be perfect if it split into 4 sections like 3 sections spread out over 4 feet for me would of been perfect,

ive also been looking at platinum led, kind led, and a couple of leds that look good but cheaper from china,

If i post some new pics at the weekend will you guys have a look to see if she looks close or not for me like i said it is my first grow and this harvesting thing is frying my melon a bit,

but from what ive researched i believe that the trichs have to go cloudy (milky) and some amber ones is this the correct time to harvest?,

yes i defo need a magnifying glass its top of my shopping list for Saturday,

i think my dehumidifier arrives tomorrow as im having trouble keeping humidity below 80% at lights out plus im hoping it will aid me in the curing process is this correct?

Look at the perfect suns again. He has a couple monster ones but the dwarf star is a smaller one and it is way less than $1000($389 to be exact). Also he has those single units that the ps1000 is made of for sale as well. Calls them the ps mini and they are $220.
80% humidity is way high for flowering. I try to keep mine in the 40s-50s at that time and go even lower at the very end to try and coax out more trichs.
Trich color is personal preference. The more clear/cloudy the speedier the high and the more amber the more couchlock. I like about 30%amber with very few clear for pain management.

Thats very interesting what you said about the trichs and how they will affect you, the thing is i like both to be honest, i stopped smoking about 10 years ago because it started making me feel anxious, like a small problem would be blown out of all proportion in my mind and it would ruin my buzz altogether and like i said this got so bad i stopped but lately it been ok so i think maybe going for the couch lock instead of the speedier high would suit me better,

I think im going to flush it on Sunday for a week, 15 weeks in flower i would suggest is enough, its still drinking a lot but its a hot little grow space ive switched on the dehumidifier and i need to add a gravity flap vent grille to my air intake or the humid air just comes in to the grow space 24/7 passively so it will be totally sealed im hoping this will work my main concern is i have 3 plants just flipped to flower and i have to try and cure that plant and still keep 3 plants on a 12/12 i was thinking of putting the harvested stuff in a box with a small 6" fan and that will protect it from the light on the 12/12 cycle,

laz do you know of any seeds i could grow that would be ready for christmas or am i to late? i dont mind using an auto some advice would be very grateful

Sorry it took so long to see this. Life happens...
You could get an auto that will finish by or before xmas.
My experience with autos is limited and i grow dwc so they seem to take a good bit longer than they are supposed to. I've seen auto claims of 55 days seed to harvest and a lot that are 60-65 days seed to harvest.
Sweet seeds red poison is a 60-65 day finisher tho i am at day 70 now and it looks like another 2 to 3 weeks til its done. I took a small sample the other day as i am out of meds and even as immature as they are they put me on my butt for a while.
