Hi everyone. What are best nutrients to go for that are non cannabis specific? Can't get any specialist nutrients locally only the standard gardening stores sort of stuff. It's for auto flowers, cheesecake, indoor grow organic soil. Also would be good to know if Is there anything to avoid. This is my 2nd grow, first one not being so successful. Cheers guys

Living organic soil, google Coot's mix. 1/3 peat moss, 1/3 compost, 1/3 aeration (perlite) , Neem meal, kelp meal, crustacean meal and a mineral mix.

Also avoid overwatering that is the biggest beginners mistake. I made this mistake not long ago and regret not researching properly. My plants are soo droopy now because of this and growth is stunted.

This is day 17 on my overwatered plant :(

This looks like that could be what ruined my first grow. They looked very similar to yours and Only one out of 5 made it and even then it was only a very small harvest. Another mistake I made first time round was not getting good advice either.

You can find everything on here if you aren’t sure about something just bang it in the search bar and most likely someones already talked about the topic . Good luck with your grow

It has only just recently been transplanted to that lol, it was in a way party cup at the start even then when I transplanted it wasnt root bound so :/

typically it’s it’s not overwatering that gets you, once the soil is wet any excess just runs off or drains out the bottom - it’s watering too frequently and not letting the soil get bone dry, the container should be light as a feather. Fill a same size container with dry soil use as a comparison weight, the plant itself weighs nothing it’s the wet soil that makes it heavy

It may not be rootbound but still way too small, typically the roots are as large as the footprint created by the drip line on the outer edge of the foliage, in other words when the leaves extend beyond the container edge it’s time to upcan. The plant can’t grow above ground until the roots grow underneath to support a bigger plant. Its been overwatered, 17 days old, transplanted once already and container is still too small - but hey go for it!!! :)

Don’t get me wrong I am all in favor of running wet dry cycle and multiple transplants, by constricting the roots in small container it helps to propel the growth when you jump to next size, maybe it’s optical illusion from camera height on your pics. Anyway not trying to be smart ass or telling you how to run your garden, I’m still a newbie grower myself. just saw the pic and thought you could use help.

don’t know if you’ve read this yet or not but should be required reading Emilya - how to water

Appreciate it mate, will transplant into a bigger container then in next few days, seems like its only been a few days since the last transplant though haha

As stated above, complete Tomato fertilizer will work well for cannabis. If its too low in N, like 5-12-26 is typical for tomatoes, you should add a high N supplement like calcium nitrate. You are aiming for npk ratio of almost as much N as K, and about as much Ca as N. In coco, more Ca.

Put it in neutral ok? Nutes on that? Nah full park. It'll be 30 days in the upsized (5 gallon minimum) container before it needs anything. Right now it needs space under the roots so it'll reach down and not turned at the bottom of a solo cup or that container. If it's an autoflower you could be screwed up from all the transplants but go ahead and get that out of the way now. And fill the container to the rim on any upsized pot. Keep the water in a ring, not slopped all over the place, outside of the "drip line" as 013 mentioned above and go read Emilyas guides on watering schedule, most valuable piece of advice you can start with ok? GG

Can someone look at my forum and try to figure out the cause of my leaves curling etc, been told it is root bound, overwatered, underwatered and it’s baffling my head.

hey blazedit,

drop a pic right here. I re-read your comments and understand you are growing autos. Its always best to start autos in their large final container, photoperiods don’t mind a transplant but for autos it can really piss them off. Typically for autos you want to start the seed in a 3 or 5 gallon pot after soaking or germinating it. But then you have to learn how to water a seedling in large final container, Emilya has written an article for that and it’s linked in her signature.

but before you do anything else let’s see how the plant looks right now,

Why not order some nutes online? That’s what I and a lot of other folks here do.
