What to put at the bottom of plastic grow bags?

I've been using small rocks at the bottom of the plastic buckets, now I've got some of those thick plastic grow bags. What should I use, if anything to keep the soil from coming out the pre-made drain holes?

I was thinking packing peanuts, but that might make it tip over. Need to be stable.

Anyone use these plastic grow bags?

Any type of screen would do the job! You just put it in the bottom of your pot then fill with your soil. Ive heard of people using coffe strainers ? Hope this helps

I use a cup of pea gravel or perlite in bottom of grow bags,works great.

I find after you fill with soil and water it's usually compact enough, never experienced large loss of soil from the drain holes.

Course perlite or hydroton works great.

They assist in draining also.

I know this is an old thread but I am curious about these grow bags. They are by far the most affordable container I can find but was skeptical. I would love to know about your experience with them.

I used half gallon grow bags in sog with good results. was able to reuse many times. I also still have them. I use pro mix with nothing in the bottom.

Have you ever transplanted from one size to the next? If so is it as much a pain in the ass as it seems it would be?

Let them dry out good and root ball comes right out.
