Guess what i got today? Stem Rot. It caused some blants to bend over at the base.
switched watering schedule from twice a day to once.
do you think its a good idea to put some waterproof tape at the base of each plant so that it is completely covered and hardly any water can leak thru?

yes, good idea. check out my third or fourth journal in my signature.
I started using painters tape becaused it blocks light, comes off easy when i want it to but not when I dont. you know the blue stuff. The best thing about it was to cover the RW and prevent algae.
it didn't completely stop dripping, but the once a day schedule should do it for you. . . when they are very small, first week or two you could flood manually when it needed it every few days, but don't forget. once a day is really a bit too often IMO, but it's the easiest to do on a timer. daisy chaining two timers would be a nice easy fix, just don't let them get too out of wack. best thing is to pay attention to the cubes, but once a day is fine the whole way, and probably easiest to maintain.
