Have some tropic og by big island genetucs and want to top as soon as possible. I only have a 4 foot 8 inch tall tent so I want to keep the plant as short as possible and scrog it. Any input is much appreciated as I am a new grower. Thank you.

It’s working on the 5th internode right now? It’s all a preference but, I’ve topped on the 7th, the 3rd, the 5th. If your up against height restrictions, in my opinion, I would say top her when ever you feel comfortable doing so. Tonight, tomorrow, it’s up to you pal, I’m only here to suggest and help along the way!! :passitleft:

You say you plan on using a Scrog?

When to top depends on how many main colas you want mate. Top the first node and you get 2 mains. The second gives you 4, 3rd gives you 6 mains etc. I'm classing a node as a full set of leaves btw. We all seem to have different definitions as to what the first node is so just to clarify mine. I usually go for third to get 6 mains. The scrog net will take care of the rest.
Find yourself a decent scrogger to follow though buddy. Lots more people get it wrong than get it right but there's more than a few world class scroggers around these parts.

Yes sorry, the cotyledons. My mistake, took a quick glance at it and was focused at the top of the plant. Your right, I normally cut the bottom branches off.
