Which LED brand do you trust?

I agree. Too many people steer away from buying an LED because they are "so expensive" Mars and eshine are so cheap it just makes sense.
Saying they have to have a $1000 light to bother with and that's too expensive I s like saying a Bentley is too expensive so I can't buy a Camry...

In my humble opinion the only true metrics that really matter regarding quality full spectrum led technology is PPFD PER 4x4 grid and PPFD PER WATT

To give you an idea of how grids are measured....

Recent PAR mapping testing session performed by Hybrid Tech at Roots Garden Supply in Portland Oregon.

Hybrid Tech tested with the industry standard Li Cor quantum meter to accurately measure the all important PPFD metrics in 4 x 4 grid.

The PPFD stats

PAR-FORCE 500 watt

HEIGHT: 12 Inches

GRID: 4 x 4

PPFD PER 4 x 4: 675

PPFD PER WATT: 1.35

To be honest just plain white LEDs work fine, I'm on 3 weeks flower budding under a simple white LED 5000k 20,000 lumens

Now you make me really wonder I have seen the spyder on really big grows on the net . We all know hps works great I'm just wondering if the leds will take it over sooner or later .

Take a look at my grows with the Mars Hydro lights. They are also stepping up their game with a new high end Cree light. Should be available this month some time. COfinest has a video on YouTube of the new lights. :peace

Fasten your seat belts some cool shiz is coming down the pipe.

4 x 4 grids

PPFD and tailored spectrums and controls means big trouble for HID

I have 2 older topled/Mars,paid $700 for both, I can't replace with the exact light because they no longer make one of them, and 2 Igro/Ctlite , paid $1600 for both .

I have nothing bad to say about the TopLed/mars wish I spent all my cash with them.
Igro/Ctlite Nothing but hassles, equipment failures, nasty customer service, they are now a custom rebuild just so I can justify the massive amount of wasted cash
I have a 10x10 room set up in 2- 4x6 system/spaces,
I am now looking to add a 3rd system to flower room and would like to move the Igro/customs to veg room.
So now I wade through the list of sponsors that sell led grow lights .
one company sells what looks like knock off or old models from other companies.
Two sponsors I can't find journals of their lights in use!!

Mars-Hydro has their Mars II, Reflector and their new Pro series. COFinest is doing a grow with the Pro right now. :peace:

Man I feel ya about the Igro hassles... I pulled 1 of mine out of storage the other day to add additional light and within 1 week the thing broke...

I would highly suggest checking out Advanced LED which is a sponsor here. I've been using the XTE series for 3-4 grows now and have very good results. Definitely a very nicely made panel :)

I use Budmaster and another brand, 9 panels altogether. All osram leds. My cheaper panels start at 32w for £80 with £15 delivery from Spain. Budmaster bases in the UK, so is close to me. I can buy them at my local hydro shop.

Save yourself all the messing around in the future and just invest heavily now on decent leds. Go for top quality leds (osram), Budmaster or others. I also agree with Icemud with advanced led too. I would also use advanced led, or even lightworks over cheap alternatives 'if I lived in the states'! I would also use grown sun 320w or 160w next. Then mars would be next in the pecking order, before the mass produced terrible leds that flood ebay, and give leds the bad reputation it wouldn't have, if we all just bought osram or cree in the 1st place!

I don't think much of people who slag of other companies in their led sales description, whether they are sponsors or not! That is ugly tactics and would deter me from ever buying from their company!

I spent over $1400 on my new Budmaster led after using their other models...! Btw in the past I have said 'as long as my ass points downwards, I will never spend £500 on an led', but times change. And my plant is thanking me for not being cheap! Buying an led is like getting chips at a casino, go hard early and the stakes are bigger! Play with the cheap chips and win little money!
