Well the ladies are slowly getting an increase in light.

Currently pushing 160watts.

They are adjusting and I backed by cobs off to about 2'.

Before LST

Each plant was topped between the 3 & 4 node.

Except for Blacky (Black Indica) which my cat topped at the 2/3 node.

Here they are after the start of lst training.

I'd like too top once more.

Needs a little wipe down already but we are set.

Due to heatsink issues I am now looking at a quantum board or possibly eb strips for my veg setup.

We will see.

I am in. Seen what you said about paper towels. I would never do this because there could be chemical leftovers from bleaching that stuff.

But it seems to work for others so i dont know what happened to your seeds. I throw them in a glass of water for max 10 hours then dig them. I have only grew like 20 beans in my life but i only had one not finding the light. I heard Far Red light is good for germination

I have some rapid rooters now.

Tested on 10 seeds for a buddy and 10 germinated right quick.

Seems the way to go.

Just pulled trigger on 2 x quantum boards 5000k for veg.

Boys and their toys.

QB304 Quantum Boards

Estimated QER 4.86 µmol/J
Dimensions 6.833" x 11.25
Max current per board 1600mA

These are flat boards with multiple diodes.

It's like these blurple Chinese leds on steroids.

They are very effecient and use very little heat.

I have a very small area to veg and adding cobs wasn't really an option after I looked at my space better.

Google diy with quantum boards.

I am going to run each at 110 watts with the option to dim separately

This will allow rooting/cloning/vegging in one small space.

I just got a ppm meter and wow.

Tap - 550ppm
Water Softener Tap - 600ppm
RO - 360 ppm

I have been treating that as RO water lol

Something wrong with this brand new ro system.

I cut calmag back 50% and will see what happens.

Ispring saying they will send me a new ro filter but I'm skeptical.

So for $10 get a pen and know your water.

Ok ok. But what about penetration? How much W on on one of these diodes? 0,5?

I think i will grab one or 2. I want about max 80W for kitchen greens n herbs. Maybe 2x1 foot and max 0,5 kWh per day. I would haave about 60cm from light to bottom of the garden.

Not sure.

But this is just cob technology spread out more evenly.

Growmau5 did a video on the weekend using these.

Under sink model.

Not an option.

Turns out its a bad RO filter. They are sending a new one.

I will have a look at the video you mentioned. Is RO required if you have a ton of countryside rain water or cheap distilled water? I dont understand the difference from RO and distilled water and why so many use it yet. Is your water too hard and you want to get more salts in there to get the desired ppm before lockouts happen?

Very very hard water - 700ppm before nutes.

Causes lockout quite easily.

I use rainwater half the year.

Right now it's below freezing so just snow and ice outside.

Hi sleepless I'm on the board here and soon to join the DCC (DIY COB Club). Great job so far, I grow in LOS so no need to get finicky with my nutrients and water. I agree RO water is great as you can build it up to your specs. Keep it up, those 1825 are top notch! Cheers! :Namaste:

Excited to see someone join the club.

I just fired up my quantum board and blinded me and the wife lol.

Oops.
