White powder edges of leaves

Hello all! I recently just transplanted my clones to dirt. After a couple days I noticed some white powder on some of the leaves. My flower room and mother were not effected by this. Can anyone tell me what this is and how to get rid of it?? Thanks in advanced!

Ahh many thanks for taking the pics.

It looks like you have hard water in your area. Those white spots appear to be dried water drops. If you take a slightly moist, clean rag and gently wipe the leaves, it should remove all the deposits. This will be more effective if you use distilled water to moisten the rag.

Another person told me it was powdery mildew. So just as a procaution I sprayed them down with Green Cure (potassium bicarbonate). I hope it is just hard water! Thanks for the advice man!!

If you've ever noticed spots on clear glass, or water spots on your car after washing it, you'll notice the same pattern on the leaves. The waterspot leaves behind a ring of dissolved minerals around the perimeter of the water drop, and lighter mineral deposits in the middle of the droplet.

I'm seeing that same pattern on your leaves. Do you foliar feed, or mist them with water?

I just mist them a couple times daily with PH'd water.

Yep. I'm guessing that's the culprit right there.

As long as you have good airflow in the grow area, and don't keep the soil too wet, your chances of powdery mildew are greatly reduced. I personally don't think it's powdery mildew at all.

You can even look closely, and see where the water naturally collected along the veins of the leaf as well. I'm 99.9% sure you're clear.

Wipe it off of 1 leaf. And don't mist water for 1 day. The next day look at the leaf you wiped. It SHOULD have more 'growing' if it's powdery mildew. The other leaves should show larger white areas if it's powdery mildew.

My guess, is you'll see no change in the size of the white spots.

Now I can only hope the green cure I sprayed does not hurt them :/ thanks again I am going to wipe a leaf when the light comes on an I will post the results.

I think you'll be ok man. That stuff is made to be safe on plants. Not all leaves will have mildew, and if it was unsafe, you'd have a hard time using it without damaging other leaves.

Would you recomend to stop misting with the water? I actually water my plants with it and they seem to do fine. But I don't want the deposits to damage the leaves... What do you think man?

Nah you're fine misting. A lot of people do it, myself included. Just stop misting when they start to flower. The moisture on the buds can cause mold/budrot.

Yea my ladies in the 12/12 are flowering like crazy Only 45 percent humidity for those gals and no misting of coarse!

Oh you're all set then man. I do the same thing lol. As soon as the pistils show I stop the misting. I'd hate to lose a plant over such a simple mistake.
