Working on infusing simple syrup

Hi, I am working on infusing simple syrup with reduced tincture oil. I have had some modest success. Is anyone else working on infusing. I use molecular gastronomy with infused syrup and coconut oil to make different concoctions. I was just joining some sites to see what other folks are doing. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum!... I'm surprised you are talking about infusing with tincture oil ... and not distillates that would seem more your style with molecular gastronomy plus a way more fascinating process to make then tinctures. lol... I like to tinker with tinctures and distillates too! Right now I'm going to try coconut infused canna oil and honey in gummy bear silicon molds :)

Tincture is my first ever concentrate. Made hash caps, too much for me!!!:thedoubletake: Distillate was going to be my next project. Live in a legal state so I can get them in a syringe. my preference is to make my own if possible. Distillate is used in water soluble cannabinoid, I saw it for sale on line in crystal form. First things first, the need to educate myself about distillates.
I am very new to all of this, including the forums. I ask for patience and feedback. Any help with distillates is appreciated.

Here are photos of a hit and miss with my infused simple syrup. On the miss I may have mixed too early. Anyone else working on things like this.IMG_20200618_122001.jpg

There is a slight floral (?) taste. If you add anything it is not noticeable. The syrup I will do for the video will be a ginger and lemon thyme (if available). You can make ginger ale with some club soda or add a little cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice and some reduced Apple juice for Apple pie ginger ale or as a topping on ice cream.

That sounds really good ,To just kick back on porch swing bench and sip on it on a hot summers night to cool off! lol

I'm on the syrup in the above pictures, I added lorann peach flavor. I would never think a syrup made from granulated sugar could be made to taste artificial, but I pulled it off. Real fruit puree from now on.

Here are pics of my next test run of the plain infused syrup. I did not get a top down pic from the most recent pics posted and may have missed the separation that happened in today's test. I doubled the amount of syrup to 30 ml (two tablespoons) and began mixing. Since it was cold syrup into cold seltzer with ice it required a vigorous stir. This caused the carbonation to tear the syrup apart and cause the oil to float to the surface and coalesce around the ice. The rescue was easy. I reduced some fruit juice and poured it into the separated glass of simple syrup and seltzer. It bound with the cannabis oil/210 and pulled it back into suspension. You can see the difference by looking at the ice. This is the test I use to adjust the 210 for general purpose use. I don't think anyone will drink infused simple syrup and seltzer on purpose but you never know! Just about to turn into the last leg of this journey, what a trip (literally and figuratively). I would like to take the time to clarify something. This syrup is a project I am working on with psychedelic Sam from another site. It is his to tincture recipe and pointing me in the right direction that saved a lot of time and money. The term "my syrup" is misleading and I just wanted to acknowledge Sam.

Near the bottom is the the syrup recovered with the fruit juice. The very bottom is the syrup in cold seltzer with ice and more 210. There is only a bit of separation. An adjustment in the ratio by 50% should do the trick and end up like the pictures at the bottom with no 210 in the bottom of the glass.

Here are pics of the almost three week old syrup. I mixed it with some tang, held up pretty good. The next batch should hold up in seltzer or club soda on its own. If it does, then concentrate the potency and a half a TEAspoon into a commercial beverage without altering it too much, hpoefully.

Here is the final draw down with a syringe to filter out the rest of the sediment. All that remains is the lipids and waxes. These do not seem to affect the emulsion process. I am always researching filtering and would appreciate any input or guidance. I am still a newbie. Tripod and microphone arrived and tincture is ready. My first video ever. If you ding me please tell me why so I can learn.

Sorry for the delay, had a medical issue. I need to do a portion of the video over again. I did not do a good job on the lighting. I put the the lights on the opposite side of where I was instructed to put them. I have a lot of respect for audio/visual people. It's a lot harder than it looks, never mind the editing.

Hi, several days turned into several months. I am 99% of the way to finishing, the 1% is my executing the video
Once it is filtered through psychedelic Sam I will post it-actually a YouTube link
Some pics of current projects

There is a peanut butter cup made with infused simple syrup and infused oil, the pan has fruit leather/rollup and popsicles in the molds made with the same mixture of fruit and infused syrup, some cats keeping me out of bed while I recover from a medical issue, and last the infused syrups used
The syrup is starting to surpass honey and agave, its ability to move from wet and dry ingredients makes it a lot of fun to work with
The peanut butter cup was made with dove dark chocolate squares, messy and it did not encapsulate the infused peanut butter disc (used infused coconut oil mixed with peanut butter) , the infused syrup mixed with drost dry cocoa makes a syrup that can make a peanut butter cup and a glass of chocolate milk
Back to work!!!
