ZEELAND -- City officials want some more time to put together an ordinance dealing with medical marijuana.
The City Council Monday approved extending a current ban on medical marijuana dispensaries through Oct. 24.
The city's Planning Commission recommended extending the ban, which has been in place since last December, because they would like to see how the courts rule on other municipal ordinances that are being challenged by pro-medical marijuana groups.
"Until we know what the courts are going to are going to decide, we're not going to put a lot of things in place," Planning Commission Vice Chairman Kurt Van Koevering said.
