CannaCure Florida, a patient-focused producer of medical cannabis and related products, will host physicians and medical professionals for a peer-to-peer medical cannabis educational conference Nov. 18 in Tampa to provide guidance for incorporating medical cannabis into traditional medical practices.

The event will be held 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Cuban Club in the historic Ybor City neighborhood. Registration information and the full conference schedule are available here.

Medical cannabis has been studied to treat symptoms of debilitating medical conditions, including multiple sclerosis (MS), amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Parkinson's disease, and acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS).

The conference will feature scientific research updates, the latest on legislation, and treatment information for physicians and practitioners interested in the therapeutic use of cannabis.

Programs featured on two additional days, Nov. 19-20, are tailored for prospective patients as well as for entrepreneurs and investors in the growing industry.

"There has been a tremendous need for families with major health problems to gain access to safe, affordable, and effective alternatives to traditional medical treatment or pharmaceuticals," Angela Ardolino, founder of CannaCure Florida, said in a press release. "Educating physicians and medical practitioners about medical cannabis is a big step toward providing relief, and even recovery, to many patients."

Panel discussions will include several North American medical practitioners who will focus on the impact of medical marijuana laws and research in the Florida healthcare community. Recommendations for developing medical marijuana treatment plans will also be discussed.

All preregistered participants will receive a copy of the book "Medical Cannabis: What Clinicians Need to Know and Why; Basic Science & Clinical Applications," by Dr. Gregory L. Smith, board certified in preventative medicine and a respected proponent for the medical use of cannabis.

A keynote speaker at the conference, Smith will talk about medical conditions that respond to cannabis, current dosing guidance, and the safe use of cannabis.

"This conference will serve as an indispensable resource for medical professionals, providing a sound clinical basis for incorporating medical cannabis into their arsenal of treatment options for patients," Smith said.

Licensed Florida physicians and medical professionals can receive a registration discount through the event website.
