The world's only cannabis game-show, REACH FOR THE POT, will be hosting its 4th Annual Tournament from May 7 to June 18, 2008, in Beacon Hill Park, Victoria, B.C.
The game features 2 teams of 4 contestants with 10 chances to get points. There are 8 teams in the tournament competing for personalized trophy bongs and other prizes given to the winning team. In 8 of the questions, each team gets one chance to earn 20 points, if they answer the question correctly. Contestants 'hit the buzzer' by clapping their hands. Once a contestant has clapped, they cannot talk to their teammates any longer and must give the host an answer immediately. If the first guess is wrong, the second team gets a chance to get 20 points by providing the correct answer. If neither team answers the question right the first time, they get a chance to earn 10 points with a second guess, which is usually made easier with hints from the host. If neither team gets the answer after 2 guesses, then there is a multiple choice question worth 5 points. The other 2 'challenge' questions vary each week and are worth 10 points each. REACH FOR THE POT is a fun, educational tool for cannabis activist to entertain, teach and activate young and old about the various uses and history of the herb. REACH FOR THE POT is another form of participatory education in constant, passive civil disobedience. REACH FOR THE POT is hosted by Ted Smith, president of the International Hempology 101 Society. The International Hempology 101 Society, est. 1995, is dedicated to educating the public about cannabis and prohibition. See more at hempology.ca.
