Hemplands Conspiracy

It's called Hemplands Conspiracy, but there's almost nothing about conspiracy. It's a very thorough history of hemp as an agricultural crop from colonial times to the present. Although it occasionally mentions hemp's uses for food, oil, and paper, the focus is on hemp fiber and, after 1800, on Kentucky. They trace hemp's commercial ups and downs due to demand, competition, and logistics, and they keep industrial hemp separate from marijuana (psychoactive) as much as possible. A refreshing angle.
