Autoflower - LST & Defoil - First Ever Grow Plus Hydro DWC - Advice Welcome

Alright well the tittle says it all this is my first ever grow and I've decided after reading many many many other blogs to do both LST and defoiling to see for my self witch one is truly better . yes I know being a beginner I shouldnt try advanced grow methods but I see this as a learning experience for my first go around please feel free to give me any advice along the way I will be posting weekly pictures as of today I am 12 days into my dwc grow

My setup
5-5gallon buckets
3-60 gallon air pumps
6-t8 6500k 4ft
2-64watt(300) cfl
2-16watt(100) cfl
Flora A&B hydro

Alright so I'm having issues trying to figure out how exactly to bend the plants I've just bought some pipe cleaner any advice would be great also where exactly to cut for defoiling I think I cut it right please comment and let me know

OK well not getting much support from anybody I guess I'll keep showing the updates to any1 else think of doing this
This is a couple days now I think 3 since my last post not much growth yet but I'm hoping they will make a big come back I've also add a few more lights to help the growth a bit let me know what you think

Alright I've waited a week and I've had a lot of growth I can see what people mean when you get more top nugs I'm guessing at least 4 tops per a plant with the LST also defoiling the fan leaves one at a time has really helped the bushing let me know what you think 21 days from seed

It was always my understanding to not top, defoil, etc. autoflowering plants because of their shorter life span, they do not have the ability to bounce back from the stress the way a photoperiod plant does. So far it doesn't seem like they are minding the abuse and the LST looks good. I am very curious to see how this affects the yield. Btw, what strain are they?

I new it might 4 autopounder 1 think different I also red that so I figures I would get one of the larger autoflowers in the hopes they can take the stress I've read of people getting close to 3 oz with this strain I'm shooting for 2 per plant

Will Be Watching To See How Your Auto's Get On, Especially The One That You Are Tying Down On Its Side, It's Looking Good So Far Though & Lots Of Nice New Growth Sprouting Up The Stem, My Boyfriend Has Done This With His Cheese Auto Its Just Coming Into Flower Now. But Is Doing Pretty Well. Would Like To Watch Someone Else Do This!

I'm getting really excited they are looking better then I thought still staying the the defoil and LST I only trim one leave a day but every time I do the recover so fast this is my first ever attempt with a low budget system let me know how I'm doing because I would really love the input I was going to change the water today but was thinking I should wait a day because I did trim and bend today the other side of me thinks that the fresh nuts will help this is let me know

Well I I've changed the water and I've had to start bending the other budsites looks a little crazy right now but I'll post close up pictures when they adjust to the bending can't wait for this harvest I'm going to save myself so much money and have so many brownies

Quick update my grow area is about 80° so I'm buying a air purifier to cool and filter the air it says it helps with odor also my plants are about 2-3.5 in tall but the main steam is around 6-8in long so if they were up straight I'm guessing that's how tall they would be I would like some input on if they are growing at a normal or rapid pace this is my first grow and it may just be the autoflower but it seems to be going quickly

yeah, Autoflowers grow quickly and tend to be short in size, but it all depends from strain and genes I guess.

I'm in on this one I do like a good lst are you keeping her tied as far up the kneck as you can find I have too retie every 2days or so but done for last time today I'm going to let her just grow and developalone I messed up not starting to side of the pot but so far lst is impressing me alot with your defoliation plant what leaves are you removing and when?

Alright so I took some close up so you can see where I cut and where I'm bending like I said this is my first grow so excuse me if I don't know the the proper terms but I believe I am cutting the fans but at this point I have almost no original leaves I would say the first 6-8 (fans I believe ) and I'm finding myself bending a little every day most plants and almost 3.5 in tall but now almost 13 in long !!! Let me know what you think I've had to start bemding the main stem around the bucket

And to answer Scott I like to cut the leaves if they are blocking light and only if the bud site has started a stem in the hopes that it will stretch out and so far its worked grate many top buds

OKOK I'm getting ready to set up my new system can any1 give me there opinion on a drip system vs dwc I'm thinking I could run 5 , 5 gallon buckets and one as the reservoir that would be full and pumping water so 6 total with about 4 in of water in each bucket changing the water from each bucket is getting too much any advice

Looking very nice poopy your ladies look so healthy and the ties are perfect can't wait too see these ladies flower as for Dwc vs drip I'm afraid I can't help I've always wanted a simple fish dwc but think a drip system would be easier I hope one of the hydro guys can help

Alright its been a couple of days now and I have to say everyday is like Christmas they are shooting up new bud sights I am still LST the auto pounder but as far as the other one I believe it has started flowering I took a close up so I'm not going to touch her any more until about 2-3 weeks before harvest then I will do a big defoil. The auto pounders all get one leaf a day cut I have been doing this since day 4 and they have reacted very well also one I believe they have fully gone into flowering I will stop LST and defoil towards the end enjoy and let me know what you think

Oh and I thought people should know this I do not check my ppm or ph ever not even when I change the water all I do is change the water add 1/4 the nuts recommended and call it a day I have had to add h2o2 I few weeks back when I saw a little slime but a little hydrogen peroxide goes a long way as I read some where and its been a part of the water ever since 3 caps to every bucket
