Been gone for a while, but I'm back at it.
The strain I'm working with now is super sour OG. I started a green crack but she didn't make it. Before I put them in their 3.5 gallon bucket, I had them in a 2 inch rockwool cube and hand water them with a little root enhancer until the root poked through the bottom. Oh, forgot to say I germinated the using the paper towel method. It took about a week after I transplanted into the rockwool cube to sprout a root. It took about another week for the roots to poke through the net pot. I kept feeding them with a really light dose of nutes that I mixed in a gallon of water with a little root enhancer. I already had some water in the bucket with a light dose of nutes in it also, so when the roots poke through, they'll be ready to go. All was germinated at the same time, so I don't know why one is bigger then the other. Both look healthy so far, but I will keep an eye on them. I still foliar spay them with root enhancer and R/O water, and I will change out the rez on Saturday.
Stay up 420, next update will be Saturday.

Clean tent, check. Great strains, check. Front row seat, check. I'm in.

Yah things are looking good, the only problem I have now is the heat. I'm battling 95° heat on a daily basis. I need a portable AC lol, then I'll be good to go.

I'm a no AC guy too. Your intake needs to be low not high. Fan needs to blow heat up not down. I use two fans in my tent. 440CFM with filter ducted out window. 560 CFM fan pushing air into tent. One fan pulling air out of tent will fail to keep tent cool. Air movement is what you need. 4x tent volume per min is standard for non AC tents.

Cheers

I don't know the CMF'S on my inline fan, but I have it on the top, outside of my tent, sacking the hot air out. Then I have 2 small fans blowing the air around the tent on the inside. It still gets to 95°. So I just leave the tent open with a box fan blowing air in and around the tent. It keeps it around 86° to 90° at best.

Hard to flower in an open tent.

Intake blowing air into tent. I'm getting a new tent. Will setup tomorrow and take pic. Two fans one into tent, one out window. If you vent into the room you're pulling air from you will lose the battle.

Cheers

Just wanted to add that my girl are rooting, and has been for 3 days. Of course 1 is rooting faster that the other, both girls are looking good. I'm going to change the rez either today or tomorrow, by the way things are looking, I might change it today. They've been in this set up for about a week, so now that the roots are hitting the water, they should start taking off. I'm going to add a little more nutes this time and see what happens.
Will keep ya'll up to date.

Sup guys an gal's

It's been a few days and I had to make a few changes. 1- I noticed that my rez water was getting kind of warm to the touch, so I wrapped the buckets with reflective wrap to attract some of the heat. Then I add some more nutes to the rez. The bigger ones ppm's was 213 and the other was 218. After adding more nutes, now the bigger one is 876 ppm's and the PH 6.0, and the other is 865 ppm's and 5.9 PH. Lights are on for 18 off for 6. Had to add a frozen water bottle in each one to cool down the water, was a little bit to warm. I topped the bigger one earlier today and I may to her again later before following. The only problem I'm having now is battling the heat. A portable a/c would be great right about now, so that's the next thing on the list. I don't have the perfect environment, but my tent is clean lol. I spray them down with bottled water sea weed extract, diamond nectar and root enhancer. I do this 2 to 3 times a day to help keep them cool, plus a small feeding at the same time. Temps are holding at 90°, but with the box fan blowing on them, I feel the Temps might be lower. Some fan leaves are curling up, but that's due to the heat. Other than that, they look healthy. It their first full week of veg, so I'll be back next week to fill ya'll in.

Whatz good 420

Made some changes today, do to a mishap yesterday. I was looking for some recharge to add to my feeding schedule, but the hydroponic store I go to doesn't carry it any more. They gave me something called stump tea. They said it a lot better than recharge, so I gave it a go. I know I did it wrong with me rushing. I was supposed to brew the tea for a day, than add it to my nute feeding schedule. What I did was put a teaspoon in each rez. That stuff started foaming up real quick, lol. I didn't like the way it had the root sticking all over the place, and how caked up with all that residue on the roots, but like I said, I did it wrong.
So today I made me a small RDWC set up, and I must say I like it. It can use a small adjustment to the bottom hoes (making them bigger),but other than that it works good. I also changed my light from a 300 watt led to a 800 watt led. PH is at 5.9 and ppm's are 1080, Temps are 88° and 52 humidity. Not the best conditions but I got to make due.
Next update in a few days. Peace

Day 20 and things are slow, but looking good. PH is 6.1 and PPM'S are 1140. Still battling the heat, the lowest I can get it is 90° with the lights on, but at night with the lights on, it goes down to 88° -86°. Portable ac is definitely needed. Still feeding them rhizotonic for the roots, flora series 3 part, and when it's time to top off, I just add water with flora blend and diamond nectar. Have to bring my ph down to the right range from day to day, but that's normal. Other than that I've been doing a little LST to spread them out a bit, so I can get some light down to the center of the plants.

5 day later
Girls are looking great. PH is 6.3 and ppm's are 1240. Had to change rez early cause it is thought the water had started to develop algae but it wasn't. Turns out, I needed to put a air stones in my rez to keep it air raided to, not just in my girls pot. I'm still doing LST to spread them out and it's going good. I'm feeding them in the aggressive stage veg. Teaspoon a gal of cal-mag, 3 teaspoon of flora grow a gal, 1 teaspoon a gal of flora Mico, 1 teaspoon a gal of flora bloom, 10 mils of rhizotonic and 1 teaspoon a gal of diamond nectar. Roots look healthy and white and should be forming a root ball soon. To help with the heat, I spray them down with tap water, and from time to time, I have to put frozen water bottles in the rez to bring the water back to a cool temp. Other than that, not much to talk about, girl's are on cruise control. Til next time 420, peace.

Hope all is well in your world.

Sorry, but I've been down an out for a bit, things been crazy. Any, the girls are still here and has grown a bit since my last update. Made a few changes so I could keep the rez out the tent when I close it. Plus I added my scrog net, so I had to add some height to my buckets to push the branches into the net better so that I could weave them through. The heat has still been an issue, but not to much. I spay them down to keep them cool and I'll put frozen water bottles in the rez to keep the water cool as well. I'm still using the flora series, the only thing I changed is the brand of cal-mag. I went to the botanicare cal-mag plus from general hydroponic calimagic. The only difference by sight is the color and the ratio. Cal-mag plus is 2.0.0 and a yellowish color and the calimagic is 1.0.0 and a brownish color. Not that I had any, but I spayed a 3 in 1 organicide to prevent any pest or molds from occurring. I have flipped them to flower already. This will be the start of their second week. I lollypopped them three days before I flipped them to flower and three days before that, I flushed them with water, flora nectar and rhizotonic. Since they've been in flower, I been giving them the flowering feeding, adding Kool bloom, flora nectar and diamond nectar. Also, since the stress of the net being on them has easied up, the stretch has been about a half inch a day. I will lollypop them again later this week or weekend, when the stretching should have slown down by now. I have been adding stump-tea every now and again for Microsoft beneficial for root support, nutrient uptake and stresses like drought and heat stress.
Will put some pics up when the light comes on✌

Day 15 of flower and things are going ok. Had a 2 day cool down, but still battling the heat. Just about every day I opened the tent, you can see that they stretched a bit. I gave them a good lollypop a day before i changed the rez. It slowed down the stretch, but not much. I keep my ppm's under 1000 and ph. 5.7-6.3. I'm still using the flora series and additives like Kool bloom, diamond nectar, super thrive and flora nectar. I add diamond nectar and more flora nectar when I have to add water every other day. Other than that, things will be on cruise control for a while.

First off, i want to say sorry for the way I've been keeping this journal. It's really not to accurate in my whole process in the way I do things. Next one will be better.

Now, since my last update, things have been pretty much the same, except now, I can finally see some pistols forming. It's at the end of week 3, so I thought I should see more, but since it's a 9 to 10 week strain... I guess that's why. I've been keeping my PPM'S under 1000, mainly in the 800-900 range, and my PH around 5.8 to 6.1. The only time my ppm's get close to 1000 is when they drink alot of water due to the heat. I still keep the rez cool by putting frozen water bottles in the rez to keep the water cool. It helps, but it's not the best. Their pretty close to the light, so I think I might have to super crop a few branches, but hopefully not. My Temps are still in the upper 80's sometimes in the low 90's, but I spayed them down with tap water and rhizotonic, a light light dose of rhizotonic.
When I top them off I will add 5 mills of Kool bloom, 10 mills of diamond nectar or flora blend. If I have to top off for a second time, I'll add roots organic instead of Kool bloom. I change the rez every Saturday and I use my same regimen.
Will post more pics and updates some. Peace.

Day 28 of flower and things are not looking as I expected. The bud development is shabby for it to be 28 days into flower. Still battling the heat, but it's not to bad. I think that has something to do with the poor bud development plus the lack of co2 due to the heat. So this weekend after I changed the res, I went and got a exhale co2 bag to help out some.
The only real change i did was taking my ppm's and bring them down a bit more. Around the 800 mark. It seems to be the sweet spot, because now from day to day, I see my ppm's dropping down, so now I know the plants are taking up nutes which is a good thing. I had to super crop about 3 branches because they were growing into the light. The next day they was standing up. I know I will have to super crop some more, but for now I'm just gonna wait. I plucked leaves that cover bud sites and the ones that are dieing. Added a small led light for added help and coverage.
For now, that's all to report. Keeping things on cruise control.
Back next weekend for another report. ✌

This week has been a tough one. My girls have been in flower for about 5 weeks, and I have never seen what I'm seeing now. Hardly no bud formation. At first I thought it might be the strain, then I thought it might be some kind of lock out and they just wasn't forming due to no nute uptake. I came to find out that I was wrong. After doing a little research and questions asking, I was told that it might be my light. Some led lights are made cheaply and I must of pick one up off amazon.
At lights off I didn't know that when my light goes off, it's still lit a little with the red diodes. You would think that that really really dim light wouldn't cause no problemsuch, but it does. Even though I had very little white hairs on them, they just wouldn't go into full flower. It was like she was stuck between veg and trying to flower. Come to find out, that just the littlest bit of red light could very well keep plant in veg stage.
I switched back to my 300 watt ipower led light and I put an extra led light in for better coverage. Sense then, I have been seeing the white hairs on my girls sprout out a little more. She might be starting off a little slow, but that's probably because of what's been going on with her. I also flushed them out for about a day before i changed the rez the next day. That's the only problem I had this week. Everything else has been the same, ppm's under 900, PH between 5.6-6.1, and I'm adding a gallon of water every 2 days with my additives in it.
Note: Make sure that when buying led's, to stay away from cheap ones, they can screw your whole garden up. Mine is 2 to 3 weeks behind because of a cheap light.
Be back next week for more updates and check out my thread on poor bud formation, might be some answers for some in there. Peace.
