So I'm 58 days into flower some of the strains should be done in 55 days some around 70 days, or so I'm told. For drying purposes they all need to come down at the same time I figured if I start flushing in the next couple of days I can get a good 7 day flush in and meed some where in the middle around 63 days? I know this isn't idea but I need to dry in the same area, I mean I'm in no rush I could leave it all going for another week or to just not sure which way would be my best option. To be fair they haven't really been doing much growing over the last 7 days at all no swelling nothing. Any ideas feel free to let me know. As promised in the title heres some bud porn enjoy!

re: Time to start flushing? Day 58 & bud porn

Since you have several strains growing, look at the breeder information for each strain, look specifically for the flower time, Usually it's a 1-2 week range. Like 8-9 weeks, or 9-11 weeks. Take the average of that number, subtract 14 (my preferred flush time), and that tells you approximately when to start flushing, assuming trichomes are developing on schedule.

If trichomes are developing faster or slower, the time should be adjusted to account for this.

I would also avoid cutting all plants at the same time with such a wide range of flower times. You're going to end up with some with weak potency, or some that have matured too long. The best way to harvest is according to each plants level of trichome maturity.

Cheers buddy, I know its far from ideal and not something I plan on repeating (multi strain) unless they are the same flower time. Half of them are ready to be chopped if anything they will be over ripe in 7 days. The others mainly sour kosher is like glue frost everywhere has been like that since week 2-3 of flower might not be ready yet.

The only other option I can think of is start flushing all the ones that are done and leaving the others in the dark for another week or so let them frost up nicely and finish developing while the others are drying?

As far as doing 14 days for flush the most I have ever done was 10 days in NFT but I was using chemical nutrients. From what I've heard some guys don't even flush organics nutrients at all so figured 7 days would be more than enough.

If separate harvests aren't an option for one reason or another, I would personally try to average out the flush time as described above among all the plants.

How are the trichomes looking on the plants? Give me an average off the top of your head of each plant. As long as you're at 75% or better cloudy trichomes, that plant is good enough to harvest, the potency can be reduced, but if it needs to be cut, I'd aim for as many cloudy trichomes as possible. You'll just need to find that happy medium, where your faster maturing plants don't have too many amber trichomes for your preference, and the slower maturing plants don't have too few cloudy trichomes for your preference.

It's going to be all about finding that happy medium right in the middle.

As for flush time, everyone finds something that works for them. I like to run a 14 day flush period. 14 days of no nutes, light flushing the first week (which is basically watering until I achieve a lot more runoff than normal), then heavy flushing the next week.

:thanks:
I am still waiting on my microscope to turn up should have been here a week ago already. So until that gets here I guess its best to hold of the flushing for now until I can get a better picture of whats really going on.

Antics what if the trics are at different stage on the same plant? I'm kind of repeating the question I've posed now in this same section but u see FT's problem not being too far from mine: in addition of having multistraun, we could have higher' buds milky & amber and lower's bud clear and milky on the same plants, depending on where you look at. Harvesting all at once may mean loosing some potency on part of the harvested plant. Could FT harvest on phases, for example:

this week - top buds on more mature plants
2 weeks from now - lower buds on the plant that was partially harvested + top buds on less mature plants
3 weeks from now - the lower popcorns on the last plants

What are the pros and cons of doing something as such? My instinct says thus would be a better way to do things as we would harvest all buds only when they are ready. When we harvest tomatos for example we pluck the fruits little by little to ensure the green ones are mature enough to reach maturity on their own, and not all at the same time.... We go back 3 or 4 times for multiple harvests to guarantee the quality of the product

Any idea in this?
