THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES HAS NOW CERTIFIED A COURSE ON MEDICAL MARIJUANA AS PART OF THE CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENT FOR ADULT RESIDENTIAL FACILITY LICENSEES.

The Medical Cannabis Caregivers Directory and Training Program is now the only approved Continuing Education vendor of "California's Medical Marijuana Program as It Relates to the Adult Residential Facility" Course.

The changing demographics of residents entering Adult Residential Facilities is requiring ARF's to accommodate safe access for their baby boomer clientele.

As part of the 40-hour Continuing Education requirement for ARF Licensing Renewal, the Course was developed to support ARF Licensees in the development of an informed and Title 22 compliant accommodation of a Client's request to participate in the MMP.

Liz McDuffie, Director of the MCC Training Program credits Susan O'Leary and Kenji Klein who co-chair the MCC Health Care Facilities Committee and spearheaded the DSS application process and the development of the DSS approved Course.

The MCC Training Program (MCCDirectory.org), established in 2006 with the support of CANORML, provides information, training and resources that support an informed, compliant and safe implementation of California's Medical Marijuana Program.

The MCC Training Center is located at 50 N. Mentor Avenue in Pasadena, CA. Classes, Class Syllabuses and Schedules are posted on the MCCDirectory.org website.

In addition to offering the new DSS Class twice a month at the MCC Training Center in Pasadena, the MCC is scheduled to have the Class on-line by September 1, 2011.
