Cardboard Flowerbox Test 3 - 41 Week Perpetual SOG

Cardboard Flowerbox Test 3
- 41 Week Perpetual SOG -
Blue Planet Nutrients

Alright, after using this box and getting the environmental controls set correctly, and the delivery frequency adjusted, it is time to really put this box through its paces. In Preparation for Test2 to be complete, I have already taken clones for the next test, so they may veg-a-bit before going in... They will go into the RIGHT SIDE only and in one month I will take 16 more clones for the other side to set both sides on a staggered growth at at a 30 day differential, and run this test for 4 cycles (Right side harvest and reset being the start of a new cycle ending with the harvest of the left) so basically it will go something like this:

Cycle 1 Start. Right side SOG set. run 4.5 weeks.
Left side SOG set. run 4.5 weeks.
Harvest right side. Cycle 2 start. Reset SOG with new clones. run 4.5 weeks.
Harvest left side. Cycle 1 end. Reset SOG with new clones. run 4.5 weeks.
Repeat to end of cycle 4.

So there will be a very fast turnover and continual heavy use, and as you can tell, there must be a lot of preparation for this test before it starts and a lot of plant maintenance as it runs.

Estimated Start Date: 05/21/2012
Estimated End Date: 03/04/2013
Estimated time of test: 41 weeks
Estimated plants in test: +/-128 (may change due to space usage/constraints)
Estimated yield of test: Aiming for 4oz/month (veg times may increase/decrease as yield range is narrowed in each harvest)
Proposed Strains in test:

Lighting: 6xT5HO 24w Ea.
Proposed Lighting Schedule: 12/12 perpetual SOG.
Nutrients: Blue Planet Nutrients Elite 3-part with Liquid Blue Bloom Booster
Delivery: Ebb and Flow @ 5 cycles/day

The learning curve is heading toward the horizontal now. That is a plane in knowledge I do not want. I want to see the plateau and punch through it. Pushing my abilities is the only way to make that happen. I want there to be no ceiling above me as I learn this type of grow style, hydroponic, and I want to push it to the absolute best yield attainable. I think that with my current equipment SOG is probably the max yield style. We shall all know at the completion of this test.

The 4oz. per month target I think is achievable given the yield of just 5 very small plants in Test 1 and the space left available between the plants as they matured. That in mind, I think 12-16 bud sticks about 9-12 inches tall should suffice to achieve this goal. Careful planning and the ability to make adjustments is key in this one. As there will be a 2 month lag between harvest and results from adjustments, there's not much margin for error. I must be spot-on with changes or suffer a failure to meet the yield goal.

Busy is the way I like it! Keeps the mind from spinning off in some useless direction. Keeps me focused on something other than feeling "low". Keeps my hands moving to decrease pain of arthritis (Doctors say staying active and to keep moving helps). Only thing being busy doesn't do is keep the migraines away.... but that 's the REASON for being busy!! so yeah.....

I understand that feeling. I have neuropathy in my feet. When it gets bad either walking or smoking some bud lessens then discomfort.

re: Cardboard Flowerbox Test 3 - 41 Week Perpetual SOG

As of the completion of Test 1, I believe I have identified the strain Thing2. I smoked some last night and here are the results from Test 1 from the smoke report:

Thing2 is quite the racy sativa indeed. Tastes of fuel badly, has "purple" undertones. Feels to me like a Blue Diesel (Sour Diesel x Blue Dream). So much in fact, that is what I shall call it henceforth.

So in this journal, and the second test, I shall refer to Thing2 as Blue Diesel.

re: Cardboard Flowerbox Test 3 - 41 Week Perpetual SOG

'Sup?

Thing 2 = henceforth Blue Diesel. Check.

Jandre busy. Check

Fantastic plan for great meds. Check.

Alright, now to medicate. Check.

Check please?

Sorry, too much Lavender tonight. Well, not TOO much. Just right. Anyway, I do have one question. Ah, I'm going to PM you, actually.

Great start to the journal buddy! :high-five:

re: Cardboard Flowerbox Test 3 - 41 Week Perpetual SOG

Hey guys! Just wanted to drop a little note in case things got really slow over here... This journal will be the third in the testing. I only started it to document when and what I'm taking for clones, and to work out the schedule. You know me, must prepared, must be ready. Hell, I still back my car into the spot... I have to be thinking ahead, and have contingencies for all scenarios. That's just me.

For the second (current) test, go here: Second Test Run - Updated 03-23-2012 - GDP ScrOG, Thing2 LST, and 2 pigmy GFB

Cant wait to see this! How exciting!

Awesome that you have meds that you know will work for you. And a hell of a plan to stock up!

Jealous of the Lambs Bread and GFB plants.. Whoa boy, it would be so nice if we had dispensaries here!!

The islands don't have dispensaries? Damn... that puts that area right out of my secondary choices when I need a geographical! Well, that and the vog... and tsunami warnings.

re: Cardboard Flowerbox Test 3 - 41 Week Perpetual SOG

New clones today for the left side.

Due to observations, I have decided to veg these small clones for 9 weeks, instead of 8.

5 x Lamb's Bread
5 x Green Fluffy Bunnies
6 x Purple Widow
