FastBuds C4 Auto & Xiaomi Mi Flora

I'v been experimenting with wild cannabis for the past year testing the limits of what i can and can't do (including surviving multiple pests in my old flat).

Today I wanted to start a grow journal with a C4 from Fast Buds, the fastest auto my growshop carries, claiming only 53 days (7 weeks) from seed to harvest.

This bad boy is the result of multiple crosses of hand-picked purple strains. A polyhybrid that is famous for its explosive force from the time it is a taproot to the time it first blossoms. The origin of these genetics arose from a combination of high yielding and resinous strains to produce the autoflower.

The genetics of this plant are a worthy find. The male parent is known to have a reduced flowering time, short intermodal distances, and thickness that are typical among Indicas. While the female parent has been gifted with spectacular aroma and flavor. The research team from the lab takes great pride in this creation and the quality shows. With great power comes great responsibility!

TASTE
A hint of butter with deep earthy notes.

EFFECT
Give the credit to the smoke! This smoke penetrates into your body like a paper towel on spilled water. In just a few minutes, the effective improvement in mood and sense of well-being will have you hugging yourself and the cloud next to you. The high is equally balanced between head and body. And the best part about it is the refreshing aftertaste, similar to that of a lemon sorbet on a hot summer afternoon. The effects can last for two long joyful hours. The strain is great for headaches and migraines, muscle aches, anxiety, or stress.

GROWING
C4 has a seed to harvest time of roughly 7 to 8 weeks. During this time, you can enjoy the beautiful sprouting of this majestic specimen through its compact flowers arranged by soft green buds and orange pistils. After the second week of flowering, visible buds will form and double in size after every week. The peak of its growth becomes apparent during the last two weeks of development when the plant displays a compact central cola and looks like the holy grail. At this point, you should be left with nothing less than 650 g/m2 (1.4 pounds per light). The buds will continue to fatten up quickly and during the final stage, the plant will have completed the formation of the large central buds. The variety is ideal for both experienced and novice growers who desire high growth performance and low maintenance.

Plus, a good high, of course. Its physical resiliency makes it very resistant to pests and infectious molds, making it highly capable of thriving in just about every environment. It is a fine choice for growing indoors, outdoors, or inside a greenhouse. If you want a strain that requires little to no care and a slap of tranquility, this is right for you!

Setup:

Taotronics 90W UFO Led (great brand, awesome prices)
Xiaomi Mi Flora to measure nutes, temps and humidity
Lunar calendar from lunarium.co.uk
Light mix soil from a local but reputable place.
Biobizz try pack
Delta 9 for flowering stage

My space is small, so I do a lot of LST and use the lunar calendar since biodinamics help quite a lot.

I germinated the seed around july 25 due to moon cycle. This is what the seed looked 6 days after.

To avoid nute burn I'm using a Xiaomi Mi Flora, but put the sensor in the middle and not next to the plant as instructed since I plan to round up the container and don't want to trim leaves around it.

My local growshop said this seed would be done in 53 days, but such a short time would be possible using a ton of light and the best nutes. My estimation is that it will be ready around the end of october.

420-magazine-mobile1872207144.jpg

Over the past few days all my readings have been going well according to the xiaomi device, except light and soil Electric Conductivity (better EC, better nute absorption).

420-magazine-mobile1982457513.jpg

Light levels don't bother me since it might be due to led or software advising less light (no way), but EC levels have been bothering me since I haven't been able to increase it to the levels I want, which should be around .8-.9 in this stage.

Every info I read talks about lowering soil salinity by adding water but nothing about increasing it except adding nutes, but the problem is not all nutrients are conductors so you might burn your plant by increasing EC trough nutes. Playing with nutrient ready water and plain water has allowed me to reach desired EC levels, but they lower as water evaporates so as I add water and nutes they balance out.

If anyone has any suggestions (I read adding cal/mag would increase EC levels but I'm not sure about that if it buns my plant) I'm open to hear them. Anyway, here are photos from the weekend and today, my plant just turned two weeks.

As you can see I'm already starting with LST.

Quick update @ week 3.

Plant is growing nice and strong but I have to be more careful with training (photos in next post).

The mi flora keeps reporting low ec, but the plant looks strong and healthy. The device says it's too much light for the plant (16/8), currently it's getting around 10k lux if not a little more. There's a conversor I found ( Conversion - PPFD to Lux ) but they don't account the LED conversion factor, so I don't know by which factor to multiply.

Ok, so 26 days have gone by and I can't believe how fast it has been growing, the stem is almost the size of my pinky at the base!

420-magazine-mobile1074349102.jpg

I did had a pest problem. A mint i bought at the farmers market had white flies (kept the plant in observation for about two weels before putting it on my tent) and a few leaves got bites. No larvae or eggs signs but I will be vigilant. As a precaution i got rid of my mint and the 9 solo cups I was growing with bagseed just to be sure and put the fan blowing air from beneath just to keep any pest wannabes outside.

420-magazine-mobile1429397740.jpg

I also topped one of the small stems, one that was blocked by a fan leave just to see how it plays out. I have only done lst and supercropping by accident.

420-magazine-mobile1437937327.jpg

The xiaomi flora has been giving me good readings, but i still want to increase soil EC without nute burn to improve growth. The variable readings in lighting were due to a fan leave covering part of the light sensor.

I've also noticed the fans dry, almosty crispy to the touch. Soil humidity is Fine but maybe i should put a damp sponge or towel every day or two inside maybe, dunno.

Well, that's all. See ya.

33 days from seed and she's looking great despite a couple setbacks.

420-magazine-mobile34042498.jpg

The lower leaves had a nutrient issue, possibly because water comes awful here. I ordered a tds meter, but have yet to find a cheap electronic ph reader. Other than that I had to re train agan this week to avois light meter getting covered by leaves and leaving space for buds to form.

420-magazine-mobile724141631.jpg

My main cola is small since I've trained it across the pot, but new colas are getting bigger so I can't complain

420-magazine-mobile238816900.jpg

Today i watered with flowering nutes and some delta 9. I need to get a spray bottle to apply it to the leaves and keep going every 10 days. It helps plants achieve it's potential (shame it's hard to get in the us).

420-magazine-mobile7218181.jpg

Finally, no news on the xiaomi flora app other than ec remains low and i can't achieve a higher level unless I'm watering the plant.

Day 40 update
420-magazine-mobile1752093841.jpg

Buds are getting big and strong, quite happy with the results so far considering I'm using a small pot (5L aprox.).

420-magazine-mobile1571812737.jpg

I asked around about pruning and people told me not to worry about considering it's an auto, so in the next two weeks I'll prune fan leaves that are blocking small buds.

420-magazine-mobile484922850.jpg

I'm watering the plant less but more often so i can feed it better. So far things have been going great.

That's it for today.

Day 45:

Feeding day. I applied delta 9 and fed the leftover of the spray bottle to the soil. Raised light seems to be working great since buds are frosty and it's getting smelly.

The small volume pot will adversely impact my results and there's not much I can do at this stage but will get a 15-20l airpot in a couple weeks to plant for the next grow.

I should be harvesting around october 13-18 according to the lunar calendar. If buds are too underdeveloped the date would move to november 11-17 but hopefully that shouldn't be the case.

Greetings!

Day 47:

I pruned leaves that were obstructing a few lower hanging buds to see if I can recover them. I won't be yielding much since I used a very small pot of less than 5 L. (1.3 Gal.) but I'm going to plant my next seed around the 20 to have something growing and shorten my cycle.

Took some photos with my macro lens (check the trichomes) but couldn't take a general photo. Plant is hungry and healthy, have to feed her tonight.

Day 49 update.

Trimmed a couple extra leaves to make room for light on some buds I don't want to get left behind. Altough my pot is small in volume I'm happy on how I managed to get some decent sized nugs that will carry me over my next grow (I'm starting it in two weeks). Bought an 11L airpot today and will decide on the seeds, a shop has some insanely low priced Dutch Passion seeds that are worth checking out.

Enjoy the photos!

Day 54 update.

I can't believe the plant was actually ready in 53 days from seed!!! I was lazy with the lights and a bigger pot was definitely needed, that's why I'm going for a second run with the same strain and an 11L airpot to see how much can I score from it.

All the leaves and smaller buds were turned into butter. I tasted the leftover that was on the cookware and damn, this thing is powerful. We have national holidays over the next two days, so I'll be getting the seeds on wednesday.

Greetings!
