Easy build 200 watt panel

The new driverless/in-built driver COBS work great and lights are very easy to build.
50 watt chips make 200 watts of extra bright light.
Total cost $84.

Heat sink plaster is used to bond the chips to the heat sink, it's $1 per tube and covers at least one chip.
On the 2nd panel I used half artic silver in the center of the chips, and half heat sink plaster on the edges because the plaster bonds far too well. A hammer and chisel is required to remove a chip.
The upside is, no holes required to mount the chips.

After 5 weeks of use, one of the chips of 8 in total has failed.
It appears when 1 LED bit burns out the rest will not operate on the chip.

That is a series wired cob. They also had rows in series columns in parallel to reduce the outage of total cob. eight weeks is not very long. Have you considered getting 4 100w cobs various colors and run them on a meanwell HLG-185H-C1400B driver. you will get the same 200 watts and the cobs are still cheap like $10-12 each. That is what I do sometimes. keep trying. great job.

My last project was regular cobs on passive pin heat sinks. The total cost is three times as much and weigh twice as much, but it remains to be seen how long each will last.
