Northerner hydro table build Dec.2012

This thread is a quick rundown of my top feed NFT hydro table. I decided to make this thread separate from my journal to save space. The top surface is 2'x4' and has 6 plants on 12" centers, leaving space to add 2 more in the case I get larger lights any time soon.

First thing first. A table to hold the tray over the Res.

Cut 2-27" and 2-48" 2x4 and screwed them together using 3 1/2" decking screws

Cut 4-51" 2x4s, cut 2 in half, and made the table top. I left a 3" gap in the center to run my drain hose through.

P.s. sorry for the short posts, don't want to "f" anything up

Cut 2-21" and 2-22" 2x4s for legs. 1" slope to the front for drainage.

Bottom of drain fitting, 3/4" barb

Top of drain with root net made of a old net pot. I've had trouble with roots clogging my drains b4 so hopefully this will do a bit to help.

Took my 4x8' sheet of 1/2" corrugated plastic, cut a 2x4' sheet and outlined the holes for my net pots.

Cut the holes with a utility knife, slow going but with a few tokes and a few more, got done.

Made the irrigation system out of 3/4" flex hose with 1/4" lines going to each individual plant. On each 1/4" line I put a valve to control flow.

250gal/hr 3/4" outlet pump

Shot of my Res. 120L if I remember correctly. Cut holes in the lid to run irrigation and drain through.

Couple shots of it set up and running as of yesterday. I'm also running a air stone in the Res.

Great work! Would a 400 HPS be enough with the spacing shown above? I gotta read more, I'm setting up a new room w/400 HPS, I'm not sure I can pull off six, but now I like the idea. I'm impressed w/your system!

400watt hps will grow six plants. I got my 600watt off a guy using it for 12 plants. 400watt will work good for
Six.

Thank you much pow. I must have missed that question when i posted. Yea 400w will do 6 fine, Sry I shit the bed there trichomes. I'm actually going to try something a little more sog. Ima try 12-20 plants under a 400w hps. Kinda like juicy has on the go.
