Can I use PH Down from swimming pool store in my plant food?

Probably sodium bisulfate, in which case you would be introducing far too many loose Na+ ions upon dissolution, probably would cause salt build up and burn the plants.

Yep, definitely the wrong active ingredients to use on a plant.

pH down intendend for hydro is typically made from Phosphoric Acid - which breaks down into plant usable P plus some water.

Not sure if it would work in hydro set up as I just use soil, but I just use lemon juice to lower ph. Its cheap and natural. Like I said might not work in hydro but im sure someone will know on here.

Gypsum is a way better way to lower your PH in soil. A 40 pound bag cost me 5 bucks.
