Are these buds moldy? Microscope photos included

Seems to look fine to me. I don't see any dark moldy spots in the center of the bud. I think what you are seeing in the microscope is all the trichomes along side of the amber pistils. someone else can likely verify this as well shortly, but I would say you're fine to smoke it.

How do they smell? Mold has a distinctive smell that is very different than MJ. it smells diseased, musty, like it wants to get in your lungs and choke you. If it smells like good weed, then it's OK.

If it's that thick mat of trichomes that's concerning you, nope, that's what many growers only dream of achieving.
