Hi new to this but here's my setup and interested in opinion

So I have 14 plants so far my main concern is the PH jumped to about 7.2 so I gave them a dose of fish nutes and dropped the pH of the solution by adding white vinegar to 6. It only dropped the pH to a even 7. The other issue they look all heathy except I notice on some leaves little tiny wrinkles. My assumption is I haven't controlled the humidity so I cracked the window and added a pot of water on the heater. These have been under 24 hour lighting since I started also. About 3 weeks in.


I would like some opinions on these issues and how soon do you think I will be able to start sexing them.

Welcome upinsmoke! I'm new here as well also using cfls for my grow. First I think your soil is a bit too moist. I would add some perlite to your medium. These ladies roots love to breathe and perlite adds oxygen to your soil to provide that. Good drainage along with good soil goes a long way. Thanks guys, I have a pH test kit, its currently at 7 and the plants were watered yesterday. As far as the soil it has excellent drainage. I used 50/50 ecoscraps soil and coarse sand. They only had small bags of perlite here, its winter and snow on the ground haha, so no real gardening stuff available ATM. There is very little wood to be honest. But total setup cost was about 130 bucks so far.

Nice budget grow! Abd you're ahead of the game with organic soil. What is the tube sand though? It looks intriguing. If they look healthy which they do then dont fix anything that's not broken! Do you plan on any plant training?

I plan to plant train soon, just going to do abit more research on it. Well the sand is mainly crystalline silica, and from I read its good for plant structure and tends to keep bugs and mold out.

Honestly the tape held for a short while then the plants broke free. So just I am going to just supercrop. Started using Alaska fish fert 2 weeks ago.2 plants got heat stressed being to close to the heater but looking good now since I moved things around. Still running 24/7 lighting. Here's some updated pics.

General question, I have a deadline around the end of April / beginning of May. My landlord does a inspection twice a year. They have been growing for a month, and honestly I have no clue when I should switch them to 12/12. But I need them to be ready to harvest by end of April. Any great ideas of timing?

Flowering time can depend on a few things, but one of the biggest is genetics. I may have missed it somewhere in the thread but I don't see if your babies are photo or auto?

If they're photo, figure 10-12 weeks flower time before they're going to be ready to cut. If they're autos then you're at their mercy.

Have you considered what you're going to do for drying/curing? There can still be quite the strong odor during that process.

There bag seeds but most are very healthy. Know I will have to watch for males. But from reading I can switch them to 12 to 12 but not sure when.

Honestly you can make the switch whenever you please. But obviously you will get smaller yields with smaller plants. Unless you're doing some sort of training imo.
