Consensus on how to count days

When do you start to count the number of days for a plant?

There are a few stages to consider you out a seed in dirt say two days later you have a set like this ? .

Day one seedling sprouting stage ..

Then go about 7 days then you can say day one week 1 veg .
Count from there ?

Make sense buddy ?

Of course his all depends on genetics but a rule is to find a chart of what a standard thriving plant should be at based on stable environment conditions and genetics play a huge role .

Sorry I ramble I still would consider a second or third opinion as this is my best understanding .

Also depends on lighting as well for spectrum purposes ...

Like counting flowering and how to know when to consider what week ish its on? Dial in environment I think plays a huge role on how a plant thrives .

Here is a chart that I use for example to count t and estimate oh my buds look this so ppm is taking well at blah blah for this time .

See chart hope it helps man. Anything else let me know see if I can help ya bud .

Hey KJ - thanks for the well informed reply. I will follow that advice. As Sid says "stay woke "

I start with the date that the germinated seed sticks its head out of the dirt as the start date for veg. For germination I measure backwards. Last grow it was minus 5 days from start veg to getting the seeds wet. When I see pre-flowering on most of the future bud sites I switch to 12/12 and count that as the start date of flowering. From there it's another 2 weeks before I will see most of the bud sites flowering. My last grow pretty much followed the instructions from the seed grower, but I had no major glitches with light, temperature, or humidity. Aside from general measurements knowing the average times isn't much use beyond planning. The main thing is to write the dates down. You won't remember.
