220 Volt Timer

My next light will be an HPS wired for 220, so I will need a 220 volt timer. Are there good grade timers ? For example American made? Or is it as simple as a timer is a timer. Obviously I'm looking to get a decent set-up with minimal break downs, down the road. So any comments on good timers ?
