Using American 1000W digital ballasts in the UK?

Hi all,

Apologies if this seems like a stupid question. I've noticed the price of 1000W digital ballasts (specifically the Quantum Series dimmables on fleabay) in the US is massively cheaper than in the UK (even including shipping). Would it be possible to use these in the UK with a 3 pin adaptor?

Ok so I just lit a zoot... and the herb just told me I just need a UK kettle pin adaptor. Saw 2 on fleabay for 150 dollars, got excited and pulled the trigger. With delivery and import, the total for 2 x 1000W dimmable digital ballasts was £160. They retail here at £200 each!

I think I've bagged a bargain. Hopefully no one pops my lemon hazey bubble and tells me I've just wasted my precious pounds.

My question has changed slightly... can I just use a UK kettle pin adaptor and connect a ballast brought from the USA directly to UK mains?

Note... I've never brought a digital ballast before so I'm not entirely sure how they work.
