making crackle

Hi all,

this is what i do with crappy weed to make it not so crappy...
using medical grade alcohol

1st; de-stem the gear as well you can and mull it well

i use 50 gram at a time

2nd; freeze both the gear and the alcohol for 24 hours or more

3rd; set up your gear to do the extraction

4th; put the gear into a sealing jar and add alcohol, shake for no more than 20-30 seconds
that is the key secret, the longer the weed is in contact with the alcohol,
the more chlorophyll and other nasties will be extracted

5th; strain it

i use screen printing screen as my filter

6th pour it into a shallow dish and cover it with a colander or sieve, and some more screen printing screen

a fan is helpful for evaporating off the liquid

after a couple of hours, you will see clumping

and after 4-5 hours, it will be cloudy

you can see the crackle forming along the rim of the plate

now i add the second jar to the plate

and we leave it under the fan until tomorrow...

in the morning, there will still be a lot of liquid, it will take around 36 hrs or so for this to evaporate

don't be tempted here, it still mostly wet, the patch on the right is drying well...
now it is dry...

i cover the plate with glad wrap because when you scrape it off it sprays everywhere but won't stick to the wrap

then i work my way round the plate, breaking the crackle free

now its all done

and the crystals you can smoke as they are...
i like to press it together, and then use a clamp to flatten it and then lay pieces of that on a bong with some of the crappy weed under it for burnage

thanks for taking the time to read the thread folks,

SeriousSmoker, the plastic wrap is born out of turning a sociably acceptable pair of jeans into a set used only for the garden...d'oh

Joebuds, yep, the tech is super simple...i remember being in my 20s and we did some super stupid stuff to get alcohol to make hash oil with...setting up distilling units that could have exploded and burnt the house down, plus some...and all the while, there was a usable alcohol for sale at any pharmacy that can be used in a process that is user-friendly and above all safe in regards to fire/police call outs
